A Pentecostal reverend known for preaching with the help of a rattlesnake coiled around his arm lost his life when one of the creatures suddenly bit him.
Mack Randall Wolford, pastor at the Full Gospel Apostolic House of the Lord Jesus in Matoaka, West Virginia, died hours after receiving the deadly bite on Sunday - the day after his 44th birthday.
Wolford’s father, who was also a serpent-handling pastor, died in the same way nearly 30 years ago.

SOFTIE Justice Secretary Ken Clarke is a snore unto himself at the best of times — and certainly was at the cricket yesterday.
He looked out for the count while watching England play the West Indies at Trent Bridge in Nottingham.
No wonder sleepy Ken’s favourite shoes are Hushhhh Puppies — though the holes in his soles suggest he might need a new pair.
He was snapped after a pal said Mr Clarke, 71, is struggling with being back in the Cabinet. (The Sun.) WE KNOW!

ANGER erupted last night over a new “green” fuel drive by the European Union that could slap 4p a litre on petrol and diesel. Hard-pressed motorists would pay the price of a draconian new quota on the amount of fuel from environmentally friendly sources to be sold in the UK.
Under a Brussels directive, one in every 10 litres of fuel sold would be made up of sustainable alternative biofuels rather than fossil fuel by the end of the decade.
It is feared that this will have a significant impact on petrol and diesel costs when world oil prices are already rising relentlessly.
