MARGOT Parker MEP has called for prosecutions in the fight against female genital mutilation.
Her call comes as Barnardos announced it will lead a new £2.1m FGM prevention scheme in England to stamp out the practice and support victims.
Mrs Parker, UKIP MEP for the East Midlands and the party’s Women’s and Equalities spokesperson said: “I welcome the news of the new prevention scheme but we must start to prosecute those responsible for this barbaric practice.
