EU Commission Official, Bernard Connolly was sacked for writing a book critical of the euro and challenged his dismissal on grounds of free speech only to be informed that free speech was not an absolute right: criticism of the EU, “like blasphemy”, was not covered.Ironically, I think it was Delors who said that criticism of the EU is akin to blasphemy.
