There is a rather cynical view that Labour wants uncontrolled immigration into the UK as it sees the potential of expanding its base of voters in the same manner that Mexicans and Puerto Ricans have learned to vote unerringly for the democratic party in the USA.It is an incredibly cynical view. That does not make it wrong and in the absence of any logical explanation of their actions, it may well be the most likely explanation at the present time.
