Hares, Snipe And Woodcock.

I saw a huge male hare from no more than a dozen yards away yesterday in a field in E. Yorkshire.

Snipe - a tiny wader.

T'was the first one I've seen in years - once common, they are now quite a rarity. Along with snipe and woodcock - shooting of this game should now attract a ban.


Woodcock - one mouthful of meat on each.

Should hares proliferate and devastate crops - farmers should be able to request a permit to cull. Otherwise, we must STOP shooting these lovely creatures.How about concentrating on targeting wood pigeons which are heading towards infestation levels and also make good eating?
Anybody who has a mega desire to kill things could perhaps be directed towards corvidae whose numbers continue to spiral upwards - although rook pie is not even as good as it sounds!
