Petrol Pricing - Labour And Tory Governments Alike.

Governments are so determined to 'make the pips squeak' where petrol prices are concerned that they need to be exposed for their contempt of that milch cow - sometimes referred to as 'the motorist'.
Osborne - (Please tip cap and touch forelock, bless him) - is going to hold tax increases until after the next general election.
In February 2007 - a litre of petrol cost a hefty 86.7p on average in February 2010 it was 112.1p under Labour.
February of this year was 137.1 although it has dropped back a little in the last three weeks.
The oil companies take only a fraction of this and they have to: do the research, the exploration, find the capital costs of bringing crude to the surface, the processing, shipping and dispersal to outlets et al with all the costs entailed. Build in retailer profit, too.
For this they receive less than a third of the cost at the pumps. Guess who takes the rest?
