Three More Councillors Join UKIP.

In Bracknell, councillors Shelagh Pile and Michael Bracknell have today joined UKIP. Shelagh Pile has been mayor of Bracknell Forest once and Bracknell Town twice. A local UKIP spokesman, Richard Thomas, said “We in Bracknell UKIP welcome Councillors Shelagh Pile and Mike Sargeant as our latest Councillors. Both have realised that the Conservative Party, of which they had both been members for many years, no longer stands up for the views of local people. As a former Mayor Shelagh has huge experience both of representing her ward and of working for the Borough as a whole. Mike also has massive experience of Council work as a former chairman of the scrutiny commission of the Council. As such, the Council’s leadership cannot just dismiss their coming over to UKIP. I have worked with both Shelagh and Mike on the Council in the past, and have huge respect for their abilities and talents. By coming over to UKIP they are the clearest demonstration we have locally of the increase in membership of UKIP. UKIP membership has more than doubled since the last election, whilst other parties’ membership has fallen."

Sorry Folks.
