Britain remains a Christian country, says Eric Pickles
Communities Secretary Eric Pickles has said that
Britain is still “a Christian country” in a speech in Westminster
Abbey.Mr Pickles told the audience of church leaders and politicians that they should not be made to feel that they ought to “apologise” for their faith.
He said: “We go through phases in politics, we had a phase where we didn't 'do God'.
“…In a way, the voice of religion was almost something politicians had to apologise for if they made any reference to it.” Christian Concern.
