My Disgust Overflows.

An elderly lady who is a good friend rang us last night - almost in tears. The Handsworth Christian School teddy bear which she had bought and given to a disabled friend of similar age had been stolen - or damaged beyond recognition - when her car was stolen from outside her home and trashed.
Last night, I was fizzing with anger. Not so much that the offence had been committed by some moronic low-life but, as a former JP, I KNOW full well that this individual, if caught, will be grossly under-punished in relation to the stress caused. The Lex Talionis was about social (not individual) reactions to malevolent actions.

Excellent.
