Nazareth: Why Was Jesus So Unpopular There?

It is commonly believed that simple jealousy towards 'the local boy made good' was the cause of Jesus's unpopularity in his hometown. I should like to suggest an alternative possibility. Three decades may sound a lot but what if you were resentful of the fact that your children had died but Jesus had escaped the predations of Herod? Just a thought.
