'Former Communist'.

A few days ago, David Burns, on his Radio Humberside morning show, asked if listeners had seen a programme about what was, presumably, the super wealthy. He uttered an aside. It was something on the lines of, 'I almost felt like going back to communism.' Whether this was a serious remark, I could not say.
It then occurred to me - what if he had said the same but replaced it with 'fascism' or 'naziism'. Can you imagine the outrage? There would have been no question of 'misguided youth' but someone that would have to be reviled and pilloried.
Yes, the ultra right of politics was responsible for more than 50 million dead - many killed in wars. Yet the variants of marxism were responsible for three times the numbers of deaths - most of which were due to working slaves to death or political executions. Double standards, or what?
