Bullies in Brussels
SIR
– You report that the EU Commission believes Britain is
“completely lost” and will “plead” for a deal because our position is so
weak.
Even
if it were true that our position was weak – perhaps especially if it were true
– decent people would not attempt to exploit it.
Not
only does this story tell us that these people are not our friends (despite what
the Remainers claim), it illustrates the way that EU bureaucratic circles have
completely misread the British character.
We
don’t like being bullied. No wonder we voted to leave.
