Butterflies.

In spite of the warm weather, I have seen few butterflies this summer.
In our locality, I have spotted: small and large whites, commas, ringlets, speckled woods, a few meadow browns, maybe a clouded yellow, some small blues, a skipper, a fritillary or two, and happily, a resurgence in small tortoiseshells.
When I am in Spain, butterfly numbers are also down.
I am most concerned.
We attract them to our garden by planting buddleia and hebe. I also see butterflies on my daily morning walks.
I have not seen a single: red admiral, a painted lady - or even a peacock this year.
