The Windies were superior in the field.

The Windies were superior in negotiating a very difficult pitch when bowling.
The Windies were superior in negotiating a very difficult pitch when batting.
The Windies were superior in the captaincy stakes.
The Windies were superior in attitude.
The Windies were superior in terms of professionalism.

But apart from that ... England did have a measure of bad luck!
