As the NZ Prime Minster talks of 'changes to gun laws' - I wonder how many people honestly believe that the Christchurch tragedy would not have happened if NZ had had gun laws as ridiculously tough and unreasonable as those found in the UK?
If memory serves, after Dunblane, it was revealed that in the UK only 4% of gun crimes came from legally held weapons. It did not stop draconian laws being enacted which went as far as to seriously damage sporting teams in major competitions.
I have tried pretty hard to find current figures - but with little success. It rather makes me wonder.
