Take action: fresh concerns for Professor Tarfa

Earlier this month we released an urgent update on Professor Tarfa, who is still imprisoned in Nigeria on unfounded forgery charges. Since then, over 350 people have emailed the Nigerian High Commissioner, and we know that many of you have been standing with the whole family in prayer. In case you missed it, here are three key areas to pray over: Professor Tarfa has suffered a series of health challenges in prison – most recently a partial loss of sight. He does not appear to have regular access to adequate medical treatment.  His lawyers have submitted a notice of appeal, the first step in appealing the professor’s sentence, on the basis of errors committed by the trial judge. Professor Tarfa’s wife Mercy is still awaiting permission to visit the 16 Du Merci children who remain in a government-run home in Kano City. The five youngest children are still in a rural location where they remain extremely vulnerable.
