Trump's week in review: Executive orders on public education, ending child mutilation and protecting parental rights

As the second week of the Trump administration comes to a close, President Donald Trump has signed a series of executive orders that have wide-ranging implications for public policy in the United States. The new executive orders come as the U.S. Senate continues to hold confirmation hearings for members of Trump’s cabinet, some of whom have already been approved by the Republican-controlled chamber while others still await their fate. 

The executive orders are reflective of the Trump administration’s goals on both domestic and foreign policy. They touch upon a variety of topics including parental rights, education and anti-Semitism. Here are five executive orders signed by Trump this week.
