CSW.

CSW.

Protestors holding placards. Man holding a megaphone on London street.

As part of our ongoing campaign, we’re excited to launch our latest film titled The Disappeared.

Speaking from over two decades of experience, our Director of Advocacy, Anna Lee, explains what we mean when we say someone is ‘disappeared’. Families and loved ones are left suspended in grief, with questions lingering unanswered:

Where are they? Will I see them again? Should I believe the worst, or hope for the best?

There’s no doubt about it – the impact is devastating. Yet there is sometimes reason to hope, as Anna Lee explains. And perhaps the most important thing is not letting these people be forgotten.

(5 mins) Watch The Disappeared

The cases of the disappeared are not simple. Sometimes the truth takes years to come to light.

We want to keep working until we see freedom, truth and justice – no matter how many years go by. We want to ensure that no perpetrator escapes justice – whether that’s an illegal armed group or a country’s own government.

You can play your part in a number of ways. Once you’ve watched the film, head over to our action hub: csw.org.uk/TheDisappeared

  • Pray: Download our prayer guide, featuring five key prayer points and a short prayer for those who are still missing.

  • Give: Your gifts enable us to support families and continue raising the cases of those who have been forcibly disappeared in places such as the United Nations, European Parliament and UK Parliament.

  • Campaign: Call on the Nicaraguan government to provide an urgent proof of life for Carmen and Lesbia; to free them immediately and without condition.

Together, we can make sure they are not forgotten.

P.S. Are you a church or small group leader? We have a few more resources tailored for you here.
