SIR – Lucy Connolly (Letters, August 25) should not be considered a martyr.
It can perhaps be argued that her punishment was too harsh. What should not be in doubt, however, is that a significant penalty was warranted.
Mrs Connolly says she does not advocate violence, but that is what she did to the 300,000 or more people who read her tweet.
Her acknowledgement that this post wasn’t her “finest moment” hardly cuts it.
