A plan to broaden out the definition of misogyny to include ‘men who correct women’ will only appeal to the very worst Left-wing feminists.

If you’re the kind of woman who finds “being corrected” by a man as proof of “misogynistic behaviour”, the Green Party may be the place for you.

According to an internal 53-page report – leaked to The Telegraph – party bosses are seriously considering a proposal to broaden out the Greens’ definition of misogyny.

And when I say “broaden out”, I mean open up what many can agree has already become a pretty elastic term, so that it encompasses, well, almost anything you choose to throw at it. Male interjections? Male comments generally? Actually, shall we just go with maleness as a whole? 

Maleness equals misogyny – because everyone loves a bit of alliteration.

I’m being flippant, but the reality is almost as farcical. Amongst details on the party’s policies on transgender and LGBT rights is a section on “Guidance on Identifying Misogyny and Sexism”. According to the report, the Green Party Council was “very close” to adding a document of this name to its ethics framework.

“This document lists ‘being corrected’ as one example,” warn the Greens’ own lawyers, “of how women experience ‘misogynistic’ behaviour – an example so broad that it is liable to justify any disagreement between a man and a woman as a sanctionable disciplinary offence.” DT.
