Easter attacks in Nigeria
Please pray for Nigerian Christian communities that suffered violent attacks over the Easter period.
Gunmen described as ‘Fulani terrorists’ raided Mbwelle village, near Bokkos town in the central Plateau state last week, and killed at least 20 Christians, local residents said. Others are still missing.
Faith Ayuba, a local believer, called for prayers for God’s intervention. ‘Please let’s pray for Christians in Mbwelle village... Lord, please intervene,’ she pleaded.
On Easter Sunday, Fulani herdsmen are reported to have killed 12 Christians in attacks on two worship services in Kaduna state. Dozens of worshippers were abducted and church buildings damaged.
Early that morning in central Nigeria’s Benue state, suspected Fulani militants thought to have been accompanied by other terrorists, killed 17 believers. On Good Friday, Fulani were understood to have been responsible for the killing of three Christians in Jos, Plateau state’s capital.
Pray for comfort for those who have been bereaved, injured and traumatised.
Pray for an end to the violence against Christians in central and northern Nigeria.
Pray that God will convict those responsible for these attacks and bring them to repentance and faith in Christ.
