People should never have a need to feel vengeful when a friend or relative is murdered in a properly ordered society.
In any society where punishments are clearly inadequate - this will promote feelings of revenge - and there can be little surprise.
This is a double whammy because, apart from the loss of a loved one - as with April - you come into direct conflict with what God has pronounced that your attitude must be.
Only a perfect God is permitted revenge but He has given society the task of administering justice.
When society fails its portion of this, the knock-on effects to the individual are almost inevitable - and spiritually damaging in the worst possible way.
Sadly, there are many who are unable to distinguish between justice and vengeance.
As a quick rule of thumb, justice is neutral but feelings of revenge are personal.

The trouble is that we are into 'out of the frying pan ....' scenarios if Labour are elected.
A massive swing to Ukip in the European Elections in 12 months time could see the party emerge as 'real players' for government in 2015.
To write this off is to fall into the 'wasted vote arguments' which have held the party back for far too long.
Of course I know that this is a long shot any time before 2020 - but to write it off is to forget just how peeved voters are with the we-know-what-is-best-for-you LibLabCon.

'Universal Salvation' Heresy.

The problem with so-called universal salvation or if you prefer universal reconciliation is that in scriptural terms, it is pure bunkum and the verses so adroitly misused in its support are thoroughly decontextualised.
At this point, I prefer to consider the extremely weak logic of the position and I shall look at the relevant Scriptures on another occasion:
1) This position obviates the need for any sacrifice at Calvary. God might just as well have waved a magic wand.
2) The people 'saved' have not done anything at all - not even said 'yes' - thus their freewill is inconsequential.
3) There is no need whatsoever for any person to live a life other than what they arrogantly take on for themselves - even if that is spitting in the face of God.
4) There is no reason to do good.
5) Sin is rendered unimportant.
6) The idea lends itself to the views of the more extreme Calvinists or Jansenists.
7) Do I really want to go into a heaven that contains an unrepentant Hitler, Stalin or Pol Pot? Indeed, if I rail against that idea and 'am wrong', I shall still be saved in any case.
8) Effectively, there is no genuine distinction between good and evil.
9) Why bother thanking, praising or worshipping God?
10) What is the point of church?

UKIP - A Little Extrapolation.

Local Election Analysis: UKIP “won” in 10 Westminster Constituencies

UPDATE: Since the publication of this article, we have identified a further two constituencies nominally won by UKIP. These are Castle Point (predicted 0.32% majority) and Bognor Regis and Littlehampton (7.35% majority). Data sheet has been updated to reflect these results, both of which are also current Conservative seats.
We’ve analysed the results from the local elections, dissecting the divisions that contain wards that make up Westminster constituencies. We calculate that if last Thursday’s results in these areas were at least as good in a general election (and there are factors at play that make this both more and less likely), UKIP would secure 8 MPs.
UKIP appear to have reached their “tipping point” at their current level of popularity where their vote begins to “cluster” allowing first-past-the-post victories.

These are currently all Conservative held seats, however 4 of the seats we list were held by Labour during the height of the Blair years. In Great Yarmouth (a 4,276 CON majority) the Conservatives actually came third in the area equivalent to the Westminster seat.
All the data and the calculation we’ve used can be viewed in a spreadsheet here. We would appreciate feedback. There is also an example of a constituency we’ve not included in our count – North West Cambridgeshire – as not enough of the equivalent constituency voted in the locals to warrant inclusion.

A Panorama sting has apparently caught out a Tory MP taking a 'backhander' according to The Telegraph. I do wish I'd seen the programme.
Patrick Mercer no longer has the tory whip but surely cannot remain as an MP - or can he?

Incidentally, I do not think that the Tory Party would particularly fancy a by-election there!
(Is my mind letting me down but didn't Newark have a rather dubious Labour MP not so long ago?)

Farage Threatens Cameron With The Law.

Nigel Farage has said he is prepared to take legal action to get into televised leaders’ debates after it emerged that David Cameron wants to freeze him out.

Senior Tories say the Prime Minister does not want to share a platform with the UKIP leader.
He reportedly wants to try to stop Mr Farage signing up, by arguing that he cannot take part in a leaders’ debate as he represents a party without any MPs.
Some Conservatives are concerned that handing Mr Farage a platform could give him the kind of boost that Nick Clegg enjoyed from the first debate in 2010, which catapulted the Lib Dems briefly into the lead in the polls.
However broadcasters are already drawing up plans for a leaders’ debate before the European elections next May.
