Authorities in the city of Santiago de Cuba demolished a church that has long been a target of the communist regime and arrested a pastor who streamed the demolition live on social media, a human rights group has reported.

According to the London-based nonprofit Christian Solidarity Worldwide, Cuban State Security brought heavy machinery and bulldozers to the Assemblies of God Church in the Abel Santamaria neighborhood of Santiago de Cuba last Friday and destroyed the church.

CSW added that the church has been under threat since 2015 even though the denomination is one of the largest religious groups in Cuba and is legally recognized by the government.

Pastor Alain Toledano who lives in the same neighborhood and pastors another church recorded the government attack on the church and broadcast it on Facebook Live through his mobile phone.

However, he dropped the phone on the ground as he was approached by men wearing plainclothes. As the video feed was cut, the sound of bulldozers could be heard as members of the church sang in the background.

EITHER national lockdown's essential - in which case we should protect teachers/children/parents/grandparents by closing often-overcrowded, poorly-ventilated secondary schools. OR it isn't - in which case we shouldn't be shutting our country down again.

A Sheffield church has issued an "unreserved apology" to all those "harmed" under the leadership of its former pastor Steve Timmis.

Timmis founded and led the Crowded House church, affiliated with the global Acts 29 network, until February this year when he resigned following accusations of spiritual abuse, and a culture of bullying and intimidation.

An independent learning review by safeguarding charity Thirty:One Eight has now published its report into the allegations.

It stresses that while no criminal or illegal behaviour took place, there was a culture of "heavy-handed leadership" and a lack of accountability.

"[T]he majority of participants in this review reported that, whilst there are things to admire about Steve Timmis and his ministry, there are also concerns about his leadership style," it said.

"These centre around a lack of accountability and a need for personal control over every aspect of church life that some participants in the review experienced as coercive, overly-controlling and stunting rather than enabling."

Members of Crowded House who participated in the review spoke of the "harm" and "hurt" caused by "unreasonable expectations", a "domineering" and "intimidating" leadership style, and "overbearing demands", all of which amounted to a culture of "misusing authority".  CT.

Our Disgrace of A Legal System.

Judges have ruled an illegal migrant who stabbed a man to death after he was supposed to be deported can stay in Britain, citing his “human rights”.

The killer, a Sri Lankan man who can be identified at ‘GR’ due to the judges protecting his identity, came to Britain in 2002 aged 28 and lodged an asylum claim which was rejected as illegitimate. lodging an appeal against the decision, which was also rejected, and then another citing the Human Rights Act, which enshrines the Euorpean Convention on Human Rights (ECHR) in British law.
As bogus asylum seekers are not detained until their deportation can be arranged, however, he remained at large,  and “committed a number of criminal offences following the refusal of his appeal” in the meantime, according to an Upper Tribunal judge.
In 2006 his criminality worsened, and he was “handed two short jail terms for assault, and later that year a further assault led to a hospital order,” according to the Daily Mail — but his deportation was still not carried out.
Finally, in 2010, he killed a man living in the same sheltered accommodation, stabbing him 21 times — but even this was not enough to him removed from the country, and in 2019 he lodged another asylum claim which accepted by a lower asylum and immigration tribunal on “human rights” grounds.
Priti Patel’s Home Office appealed this decision in December — the fourth hearing concerning the migrant’s place in the country — but the Upper Tribunal agreed with the decision to let him remain.
Judges frequently prevent the removal of illegal migrants from Britain — grounding an entire removal flight to Spain, a safe, first world EU member-state, just this September — as well as criminal migrants, whether they originally arrived legally or illegally.
In 2017, for example, the Court of Appeal ruled it would “not be fair” to deport a paedophile from Zimbabwe, not because the Government did not have just grounds to remove him but because its lawyers had taken too long to make the correct arguments to remove him.
In June this year, a judge ruled that a Taliban terrorist who already had an asylum claim rejected and lost six taxpayer-funded appeals could stay after all, because Afghanistan would not do as good a job as the British health service of providing him with free healthcare for the PTSD he supposedly acquired while fighting in the country — against Britain and its allies.
The Conservative Party has pledged for years that it will take action to increase deportations and change the laws which allow judges to keep dangerous foreigners in the country, but in fact, they have fallen to their lowest level in years.
Priti Patel has suggested that meaningful action will, finally, be taken months from now when the Brexit-in-name-only “transition” period finally expires at the end of 2020 — but changes to the Human Rights Act would still be needed to make a difference, as well as an exit from the jurisdiction of the European Court of Human Rights, which is not an EU institution and will continue to be able to enforce the European Convention in Britain regardless of its EU membership and regardless of whether or not the domestic Human Rights Act is changed or abolished.
Boris Johnson’s government is not seriously discussing doing any of this, however, despite having a substantial parliamentary majority — and it has even offered assurances to the EU that it will remain committed to the European Convention after 2020.

Bobby Ball's Prayer.

Just saw this on Facebook and wanted to share it. Bobby Ball's Prayer In his book 'My Life' Bobby includes a prayer to share he wrote it for himself. "In this world of ever-changing faces, help me to stay on the straight line I was destined to be on. Help me to try and put right my faults, but to realise that my strengths are gifts. Help me to be patient with others who are as impatient as myself. Help me to learn the value of each minute of each day that I have on this earth, that I can bring love and happiness into someone elses life and not just my own. Teach me to be honest with myself because if I am not honest with myself first, then it is impossible to be honest with others. Make me slow to speak but quick to listen because others have a point of view too. Help me gain a little wisdom as each day goes by because the smallest grain of wisdom is worth all the riches on earth. Grant me peace and serenity that I may enjoy the days that I have left on earth. Help me to see the good in others before the bad. And last of all, help me to be honest in all that I do, because in spite of all our insecurities and faults we are the children of God and he gave us life. So I shall try each day to become a better human being and, when my time comes to leave this wonderful world, I can go to God in the knowledge that at least I tried. Amen.
Farewell. I am concerned that our Saviour is not mentioned.

Dangerous Trojan Horse.

Conversion Therapy Bans Are a “Trojan Horse.”

“Conversion therapy bans” have been popping up throughout the West. Those pushing these bills claim they’re trying to protect people, often specifically children and teens who identify as LGBT, from supposed abusive practices (which do sometimes make up certain so-called “conversion therapies”). But what are these bans really all about?
LGBT activists claim that if you don’t fully embrace, support, and celebrate an LGBT lifestyle or identity, then that’s hate speech and harming someone because that person is more likely to commit suicide because you did not affirm them.
Well, for years, conservative politicians and Christian commentators (including me) have been saying these “conversion therapy bans” are “Trojan horses” that pave the way for the bridling of free speech and the criminalization of those who believe and act on biblical principles. You see, LGBT activists claim that if you don’t fully embrace, support, and celebrate an LGBT lifestyle or identity, then that’s hate speech and harming someone because that person is more likely to commit suicide since you did not affirm them. In their minds and by their flawed logic, those who hold to the biblical belief that an LGBT identity and lifestyle are sinful are hurting other people and driving them to suicide; therefore such people (Christians specifically) don’t deserve to be able to speak their views. Many politicians are viewing this matter now as a civil rights issue—but it’s not. It’s a moral issue.
The warning that these bans are Trojan horses isn’t a fallacious slippery slope argument. As an opinion piece by Jonathon Van Maren on LifeSite news points out, LGBT activists are starting to publicly make that argument in the UK. He notes that several leaders from “post-Christian churches” are urging the Prime Minister of the UK to take proposed “conversion therapy bans” one step further:
Whilst we recognise and applaud your overall aim to “end conversion therapy” we would caution you that this will not be possible until our religions have done more theological thinking on these matters – which we and others are committed to helping them do. [In other words—until other churches have abandoned God’s Word like these churches have in favor of a message that is not the gospel and therefore doesn’t save!]
We urge you to make it clear that the UK will not tolerate those who practice conversion therapy in any form, whether consensual or not, and that those who practice it will be prosecuted. This will have the impact of causing religious leaders to think twice, as they will be loathe to risk having a criminal record that would stop them from following their vocation.
It’s an outright assault on freedom of religion and speech and, above all, on biblical truth and the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Religious leaders—those who would preach, teach, and counsel from God’s Word—are called out here as being part of these “conversion therapies” and that legislation should make them “think twice” before speaking the truth from God’s Word on sexual issues. It’s an outright assault on freedom of religion and speech and, above all, on biblical truth and the gospel of Jesus Christ (the only message that truly delivers someone from their slavery to a sinful identity, if they will repent and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ).
Van Maren’s article goes on to quote from Steve Chalke, a pastor who has utterly rejected the clear teachings of Scripture on sexuality as well as the gospel, who argues that “even traditionally Christian expressions of support for those struggling with unwanted same-sex attraction and the offer of prayers [is] ‘psychologically abusive,’ and stated that Christian teaching on sexuality that taught people ‘that their desires are ‘sinful’’ is dangerous because it ‘only contributes to the already high levels of mental health issues reported among people from the LGBT+ community.’”
In this “pastor’s” view, sharing the message of the gospel of Jesus Christ and the biblical truth that God has created us male and female and created marriage to be between one man and one woman is abusive and dangerous. What’s abusive and dangerous is what Chalke and others do: twisting God’s Word to scratch itching ears and lull people into complacency in their sin so they don’t see their need of a Savior.
As believers, we must be prepared to continue sharing biblical truth regardless of what the culture around us says or threatens.
As believers, we must be prepared to continue sharing biblical truth regardless of what the culture around us says or threatens. Teaching God’s Word is not abusive or dangerous—the gospel is the power of God unto salvation (Romans 1:16). It is the gospel and the truth of God’s Word, with the power of the Holy Spirit, that free us from our slavery to sin (Romans 6:6) and makes us a new creation in Christ Jesus (2 Corinthians 5:17).
The time is coming when speaking biblical truth regarding sexuality will be illegal. But we must love people enough to continue to contend for the faith (Jude 1:3), making disciples (Matthew 28:19), as we do the King’s business until he returns (Luke 19:13). Are we courageous enough to boldly state as Peter and the apostles did: “We must obey God rather than men” (Acts 5:29)?
To equip yourself to think and speak biblically and practically to these issues, I urge you to subscribe to Answers TV and watch the nine videos from our recent Answers for Pastors conference. These sessions all focused on sexuality and gave biblical answers for the questions of our day when it comes to these issues. It was a very practical conference and desperately needed in our day and age. You can find that series, and over 2,000 other videos, on Answers.tv.
