'North Korea is considered to be one of the worst persecutors of Christians in the world. Christians can be detained, tortured and sent to what have been likened to concentration camps as political prisoners. Many flee to avoid persecution – as well as starvation.
‘If there is a hell in this world, then it is the North Korean concentration camps,’ a former prisoner known as Kim told Release. He was caught by the Chinese police after escaping from North Korea and sent to Yoduk camp for five years as a political prisoner.

He described conditions in the camp: ‘There is only fear, and absolutely no connection to the outside world. The food crisis is bad in North Korea, but it is even worse in the camps. People die of malnutrition. If anyone was found praying they would disappear.’

How long before these things happen here? Pray and pray and pray again for N. Korean Christians.

How many scientists' experiments find what they want to find?

'It was a discovery that scientists proclaimed was the oldest evidence of life on our planet.
But researchers who thought they had found 3.5 billion-year-old bacteria fossils in Australian rock have been left red-faced after U.S geologists debunked their findings.
A team from the University of Kansas said the microscopic structures are nothing more than tiny gaps in the rock that are packed with lifeless minerals.
Not fossils: The arrows point to the spots in the rock that were thought to be evidence of the earliest life on Earth. The scale shows 100 micrometres (one micrometre is a millionth of a metre)
Instead of primeval oxygen-producing cyanobacteria, they were found to be bits of the iron mineral hematite.
The scientists who reexamined the rock known as the Apex Chert, have published a study in the journal Nature Geoscience.
Team member Professor Alison Marshall, said: 'We found no sign of any microfossil.
'What we found were minerals that took the appearance of life. We went into this assuming these were microfossils - as was pretty well accepted in the scientific community.

'It was a good lesson in trusting your data over what you’d been told you should find. At every step of the way, we would do an experiment expecting to find one result and find the complete opposite instead.'

Quite! Yet again scientists ' have jumped to unwarranted conclusions' - for once, it hasn't taken a generation for the truth to be revealed.

ECHR independent commission isn't - and it's 'that man' AGAIN!

'The supposedly independent commission was hurriedly set up by the Coalition in response to mounting public outrage at a European ruling ordering Britain to give prisoners the vote.
But Justice Secretary Kenneth Clarke announced yesterday that the body will be barred from debating whether Britain should pull out of the European Convention of Human Rights – the basis for Labour’s controversial Human Rights Act.
It will instead have to ‘incorporate and build on all our obligations’ under the Convention.'

Europhilia at its worst - proving that the tories hate us just as much as 'the others'.
Anything touched by Clarke is tainted and seemingly guaranteed to harm our nation. How does he sleep at night?

A most worthy assessment!

WE see the “environmentalists” are eager to talk about the Japanese catastrophe.
Not the earthquake and tsunami which has killed more than 2,000 people, probably far more, but the consequent failure of two reactors which have caused neither death not injury to anybody.

This disproportionate coverage of anything with the magic word “nuclear” is normal across our media.

For example, compare the coverage of Chernobyl, where a total of 56 people died with that of the Ufa train disaster also in the dying days of the USSR, where over 500 people died.

Both were equally the result of incompetent management, but the latter, though 10 times worse, was never “newsworthy” because no nuclear “black magic” was involved.

The fact is that nuclear power safer than any other comparable industrial process.

For example, in the last 20 years, two people have died in one nuclear accident in an industry that produces 20 per cent of the world’s electricity, whereas over 50 have died falling from wind turbines, in a subsidy driven “industry” that produces under 0.1 per cent.

I don’t know if the earthquake has caused any Japanese windmills to fail – because I do know that if it has happened it would not be “newsworthy.”

What the anti-technology crowd won’t say is that, when disasters strike, far and away the most important factor in saving lives is having an advanced technology.

If the “greens” really cared about human wellbeing they would enthusiastically support every instance of human progress, including more (CO2 free) nuclear power.

Stephen Fry - yet again.

I do hope people are seeing through this odious individual. I turned on my recording of the new series looking at the Bible last night which had one programme featuring Ann Widdecombe talking about The Ten Commandments.

Up pops the egregious Fry trying to shout her down and drown out her arguments. Presumably this was done in the name of a 'balance' which would not be required in programmes approved of by liberals.

How so very typical of the atheistic left. Once your opinion goes against theirs they throw a tantrum and debate goes out of the window.

In my last piece, I pointed out that he is emphatically not 'a national treasure'. I must now add that the genial, 'light touch', affable bonhomie of the man is a front - and it is all too easy to fall into the trap.

There really is nothing quite as nasty as a liberal whose waffy opinions are challenged.

Incidentally - I turned the programme off!

The disaster in Japan - thus far at least - has seen thousands of deaths and in spite of the unbelievable folly of constructing nuclear power stations in the middle of wild tectonic activity, it appears that there have been, as yet, no deaths caused by radiation escapes.
In other words, the natural disaster has killed many - nuclear power has not - however silly the original building locations.

Max Hastings puts matters in perspective as he warns the anti-nuclear lobby that we should all start 'hoarding candles':

I APPLAUD Samantha Cameron’s support for the Save The Children campaign to tackle avoidable infant mortality (Yorkshire Post, March 11), though question the title of this worthy campaign; No Child Born To Die.

Unless there is some unreported immortality in the world, then surely every child is born to die; it’s just a matter of when and how.

As a medically-advanced society, we shy away from the really difficult questions, and by default can sometimes cause or prolong more suffering than we relieve.

We live in an age where Nature’s reject survives as a “miracle baby”, and our old folk are protected against “the old man’s friend” pneumonia, so that they may go on to develop “the long bereavement” of dementia.

Whenever I read of some new treatment or campaign to prevent death from a particular cause, I wonder what it is that the medical profession would prefer us to die of.

“Old age” is not something that appears on death certificates any more, and with 100 per cent overall mortality rate, every reduction to one statistic has a corresponding increase in another.

Of the traditional two certainties in life; death and taxes, we talk long and often about one. Perhaps it’s time for a more open and honest debate about the other.

There are considerable numbers of scientists who dare not declare their opposition to the evolution fraud as there is no faster way to destroy a career. Jobs can be lost; journals will refuse to publish; any evidence produced will be dismissed out of hand as 'tainted'.
