In this appallingly lax nation where immigration is concerned, it is almost beyond all belief that Gurkhas who have completed spells in the British Army have been given lower pensions than other soldiers and have had no rights to settle in the UK.When you consider the riff raff and scallies who have been allowed to settle here just because we are part of the EU and many more who have pretended to be asylum seekers, the treatment of these tremendous and fiercely loyal people has been a national disgrace. They at least, are actually on our side!
Partly because of the efforts of Joanna Lumley whose father's life was saved by Gurkha soldiers, a court victory has been won to allow them to settle here after all.
In this mad, mad, mad, mad world, how excellent to see justice prevail - even if it is an increasing rarity today!
