What has happened in recent years is that the so-called 'green' politicians have figured out a way to punish motorists and raise revenue at the same time via parking fines.In towns and cities throughout the nation, perfectly acceptable parking spaces have been blotted out by the imposition of double yellow lines and associated, unnecessary restrictions. Fines are now running at almost half a billion pounds annually!
This has affected businesses, pressurised motorists and ensured that drivers spend longer on the roads as they attempt to find parking. Green-minded politicians, as ever, manage to make things worse with their Mickey Mouse solutions.
