Running a car is now so expensive that it is pricing the poor off the road altogether.
You can certainly imagine them rubbing their hands in glee.
(Naturally, there will also be more TWOCing and fewer young drivers paying for insurance as a consequence.)
So who will suffer most? - Decent, honest hardworking folk on low incomes - that's who!
Ironically - it is the older, less fuel-efficient cars (pictured) which will now have much longer lives as all monies from most drivers will go into running costs rather than upgrading!
