  ... Patrick Mercer MP (Tory) is said to have called PM a 'despicable creature' and 'the worst politician since Gladstone' at party.
Okay. So Mr Mercer is a master of understatement. So what? - Although I suppose he could have been more accurate by saying that he is the worst since Heath.
