Forced Marriage On The Way Out?

Home Secretary Theresa May will unveil tough new laws tomorrow and promise a sweeping crackdown after warnings that up to 8,000 young women a year are pushed into wedlock without their consent. David Cameron says forced marriage, which involves families from Afghanistan, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and east Africa, is 'little more than slavery' and 'completely wrong'. (Mail.)
Well-intentioned, of course but legislating into family networks is going to be almost impossible to implement.
Still worth the effort for the few girls who will be 'rescued'. Hopefully, one or two exemplary prosecutions will follow but I suspect that the marriages will simply be transferred outside the jurisdiction of British Justice - and even with a return to the UK, the authorities will just be 'playing catchup'.
May God bless your efforts, Theresa!
