The Feeble Mr Cable.

As readers of this Blog will be only too well aware, 'a crackdown' is a meaningless term utterered by politicians who are pretending to do what the public wants.
Consequently, I have two questions:
1) Why does the experienced Mr Cable not know this fact? &
2) Why is he so opposed to public opinion?
