Just before the battle of Milvian Bridge in 312 AD - the pagan
Emperor, Constantine, ordered his men to put Christian symbols on their
shields.
WHY? - The Christians had no military power; they had no political
power.
Perhaps then, it was as he claimed, he did actually see a divine
vision of victory prior to the battle if he committed himself to The
Christ.
Some have questioned whether his conversion was real. But, he gave
social rights and money to the Church in pagan Rome and stopped all persecution.
He certainly believed that he was a believer.
After St Paul, Constantine was certainly the greatest aid to the
spread of The Faith in all of History!
