Back in the 1970s, my wife began her teaching in a dogend Sheffield comprehensive. There were a fair number of black pupils who had seemingly been programmed to believe that they were part of a victim culture.
The standard response to any teacher's emphasis on standards, in either work or behaviour, was to say, "You're picking on me coz I'm black."
After all of the BLM posturing - what are the odds that this long-forgotten nonsense will shortly be making a reappearance?
