Booker gets to the point! Another BBC scandal.

Warmists beat straying BBC man back into line.
A talking point among "climate sceptics" on both sides of the Atlantic has been the bizarre tale of how the BBC's chief reporter on climate change censored an item on the BBC website after being harried by a "climate activist".
On April 4 Roger Harrabin posted a story on the fact that world temperatures have not continued to rise in the past 10 years, and this year will fall to a level markedly below the average of the past two decades.
Citing the World Meteorological Organisation, Mr Harrabin accurately reported that "global temperatures have not risen since 1998, prompting some to question climate change theory".
This was a red rag to Jo Abbess of the Campaign Against Climate Change (Hon President, George Monbiot), who emailed Mr Harrabin demanding that he "correct" his item.
Mr Harrabin insisted that what he had written was true. There are indeed eminent climate scientists "who question whether warming will continue as predicted".
This only angered Ms Abbess further. She said it was "highly irresponsible to play into the hands of the sceptics", to "even hint that the Earth is cooling down again".
Mr Harrabin, though he has led the BBC's tireless promotion of warmist orthodoxy, stood firm. Even in the "general media", he replied, "sceptics" highlight the lack of increase since 1998: to ignore this might give the impression that "debate is being censored".
His item had, after all, added "we are still in a long-term warming trend".
This was too much for Ms Abbess. She responded that this was not "a matter of debate". He should not be quoting the sceptics "whose voice is heard everywhere, on every channel, deliberately obstructing the emergence of the truth".
Unless he changed his item, she said, "I would have to conclude that you are insufficiently educated to be able to know when you have been psychologically manipulated". She threatened to expose him by spreading his replies across the internet.
At this point the BBC's man caved in. Within minutes a new version appeared, given the same time and date as that which he had consigned to Winston Smith's memory hole.
Out went any mention of "sceptics" who question global warming. After a guarded reference to this year's "slightly cooler" temperatures, a new paragraph said that they would "still be above the average" and that we will "soon exceed the record year of 1998 because of the global warming induced by greenhouse gases".
Of course we have long known where the BBC stands on climate change. But it is good to have such clear evidence that, even when one of its reporters tries to be honest, he can be whipped back into line by a pressure group.
In the end, Ms Abbess still circulated the exchanges on the internet, to show the great victory she had won for the "emerging truth".

No. I just do not get it!

I just do not get it! How come the excellent Frank Field - [the only labourite to have received actual praise on a UKIP leaflet] - is still in the appalling Labour Party?
Look at this from today's Sunday Telegraph:-

Ed Balls, the Schools Secretary, has carried out a "near criminal" attack on high-performing faith schools, according to a leading Labour MP.
Frank Field, the former welfare minister, said Gordon Brown's closest colleague was "ranting" and using the row to position himself for Labour's "next leadership contest".

Come on Frank. Defect to UKIP. You know you will feel better!

My regular request.

Please think who might respond well to this Blog and let them have the address:

http://christianityisnotleftwing.blogspot.com/

I have attempted to make a Blog which 'goes where no Blog has gone before'. Christianity is a must - Political Correctness is the outworking of diluted marxist theory.
I am of the view that it is largely the abandonment of the one and the takeup of the other which is why our poor, hurting society is in the mess which it finds itself today.
The Blog is anti-leftwing. That does not make it rightwing.
So many of the ideas I put forward would have been considered 100% reasonable by Labour voters for years after my birth and are still held by countless numbers of voters today who vote Labour 'as a family tradition' and who actually disapprove of labourite policies.
Politics is now entirely a centre-left phenomenon. It is only in the fact that this Blog rejects that, that it may be considered of the right.
In the past it would have been called 'conservatism'. Indeed, I suppose I am in fact a conservative - just happening to be one who does not like tories!

Sartre the freak and his sickening sidekick.

Jean-Paul Sartre and Simone de Beauvoir! They 'invented' the promiscuous lifestyle based on licence rather than freedom, with naturally, no reference to God and which became the feature of post war Europe. Just soooo cool!
Sartre was an interminably tedious intellectual who today would be described as 'having his head up his own **** ' - {Please pardon the crudity.}
He was barely readable {except of course in the 'trendiest' of circles and university literature departments where his 'Nauseating' opinions were a 'must'}. Simone de Beauvoir was an opinonated libertine who gave much to that brand of feminism, previously discussed on this Blog, which had nothing whatsoever to do with the emancipation of women but had a great deal to do with the quasi anarchistic, socially destructive, leftwing liberalism which plagues our society to this day.
Between them they embraced the nihilistic philosophy of existentialism which wickedly denies the faintest hope to a lost mankind.
It has now been revealed that this odious, drug-ridden and ironically, nazi-fraternising pair of vipers, did not merely encourage promiscuity but she also acted as his procuress for bringing under age girls into his priapic clutches.
Although I do hope of course, that these vile low lifes repented their evil to the Lord Jesus, I should be profoundly surprised to learn that they were not rotting in hell at this time.

Child Benefits in France.

I was told many years ago that in France, if your children misbehaved, you would lose child benefits.
My source at the time was a good one so I expect it was true but I have been unable to find any background on this.
It is the kind of measure which, if implemented on the second piece of truancy, the second time an under 16 was found hanging around a street corner after dark, the first suspension from school and the first criminal act reported to police, it might possibly have a significant effect on juvenile misbehaviour.
We must however NOT attempt it in this country!
We would be incapable of seeing it through - for even say, a year . There would be hand-wringing appeals, sympathetic articles in The Mirror, outbursts of anger from The Guardian. There would be countless different ways found by social workers to ensure that no benefits were actually lost. To top all of that, the bureaucracy would be a nightmare.
If made mandatory however, with NO excuses then .....

The correct egyptian dating matters.

Many readers of this Blog may not be aware that egyptologists who follow traditional, but now largely discredited datings of the chronologies of ancient pharoahs, have had to throw out virtually all links to The Old Testament as these flawed datings simply did not match up. The Old Testament has stood up really well to the tests of time and academia. [I wonder why they took the egyptian histories as 'true' first and not the correct way around?]

In the 50s came the first cracks in the traditionalist structure when Immanuel Velikovsky - a most controversial historian - appeared on the scene debunking the chronologies but with some rather weird ideas tagged on.
As scholarship became more realistic with James, Rohl, back to Yahuda and latterly, Emmet Sweeney, it has become ever more clear that the datings in egyptian history are not only wrong, but badly so - dates are out by centuries and evidence which showed this has been wilfully ignored.
Once again - if a scientist or academic has built a career on the 'truth' of one idea or another - how hard to admit it when you are wrong. Your reputation just goes down the toilet. [How like other scientific areas which this Blog frequently exposes.]
If compared to the OT then a whole bundle of sense starts to appear.
Clearly the Vizier of Pharoah Djoser, known in Egyptian history as Imhotep, is none other than the man who takes up nearly a quarter of the first book of the Bible - a certain JOSEPH!

Straw & co, PROTECT US WE BEG!

I do not yet know his name as the Police have not told me. The man who burgled The Handsworth Christian School last month kindly cut himself on glass and bled DNA profusely all over the new carpet. He has admitted only to other crimes which police can actually prove - possibly a mistake on his part.
He is 35, a longterm career criminal and inevitably, the kind of druggie who 'gets clean' in prison but immediately reverts to type upon release.
He has been jailed for a total of four and a half years in the last three but is, nonetheless, out committing more crime!
He commits crime when on bail and crime just one day after release. He commits crime when he is given a community penalty. And of course, magistrates and judges cannot make him 'work for the community' as guidelines do not permit you to do this with a druggie as 'it sets them up for failure' - he would obviously commit more burglaries whilst on the order in any case.
He has tormented the Handsworth Community and is almost certainly the one behind our burglary last June.
He has brought fear, anger and frustration to the community. To our school he has brought disturbance and chaos and does not care. Almost certainly, our insurance premiums will rocket just because of him alone!
Do I feel any animosity to this man? - No! Not a single jot. All my venom is pointed at the 'do-gooders' who allow this man to be released into our community; the do-gooders and the soft-in-the-centre liberals who do not have a clue.

He is representative. There are literally many tens of thousands just like him spread throughout the nation.
With his atrocious record, he should now get a sentence of seven years or more without possibility of parole.
Having spoken to local coppers, they think he will get 12 months with half off for good behaviour - [That has worked so well in the past!]
At school we shall have to expect him to be popping around again within the year!

Note the cartoon. It's all a bit of a joke, innit?

Humility.

In my own life, I can count ten separate situations where I have knowledge of a Church minister who has gone off the rails by taking the path of adultery.
If we consider the big name evangelists such as Bakker, Marvin Gorman and Jimmy Swaggart, we have added 3 very big names to this list.
The trouble is, so many truly genuine people get too big for their boots; they see themselves as being more important than they actually are. 'God cannot do without their ministry'. It is arrogance by any other name.
It is a classic form of temptation from the enemy - the simplest and the most effective and when compounded with using the hapless victim's libido ....
Leadership is dangerous. If not accompanied by humility it will turn to ashes.
" Blessed are the meek ..."

The wisdom of Wesley.

"Earn all you can; save all you can; give all you can," said John Wesley, the founder of Methodism, a quotation of which Mrs Thatcher was rather fond. In such a world view, failure was not something to be indulged, let alone celebrated. If you failed, you let down yourself, your neighbours, and your God.

S. Africa.

Hmm. S. Africa has a staggering 22,000 murders a year.
I wonder why abolitionists forget to use this nation as part of their arguments when they claim that 'the death penalty does not deter'?
Increases of many hundreds of per cent since abolition apparently: do not count; prove nothing; are not relevant; do not take into account 'other factors', blah, blah.
I wonder if, what are now hundreds of thousands of extra , tragic deaths in S. Africa, ever disturb the sleep of all those 'worthies' who brought this situation about? - I expect not.
They have convinced themselves that 'capital punishment does not deter'.
- Wrong!

Labour, your malice is showing!

That appalling government minister Jim Knight, has been trying to undo some of the damage done by the even more appalling Ed Balls.
Balls has attempted to attack "faith schools" and grammar schools in recent weeks. No matter what the positives might be, these must be pilloried.
[ It was the sheer ,pettyminded spite demonstrated by leftwingers which made me turn against them when I was becoming politically aware in my mid to late teens.]
"With Mr Balls away on holiday, Mr Knight stepped in to calm the row at a meeting organised by the Board of Deputies of British Jews." A number of Jewish headteachers are "hopping mad" - and no surprise there.
What Balls had done was to wickedly imply that the majority of faith schools demand 'voluntary' donations on admissions forms.
In practice "They were only able to identify six schools which asked parents for up front contributions - all faith schools and five of them Jewish." AND all of these had valid reasons for doing so.
Really. This government ought to be more careful when disseminating its abundant malice.

Pure arrogance.

If you have any Christian experiences, any member of that ever growing phalanx of aggressive atheists will 'destroy' you if you have the temerity to voice them.
Ad hominem arguments will abound.
There are two lines of attack: firstly you have misinterpreted what happened {probably due to some kind of mental incapacity} OR secondly you are a liar! {No doubt. No questions. Whatever you say happened - DIDN'T!}

This new breed of aggressive atheists are seriously unpleasant people. Isn't it strange? - Whenever I meet an atheist who is not of the left - they will treat you as a human being, an equal and will possibly even debate with you.
When that atheist comes from the left - you can often FEEL the hatred, not only of your beliefs but of you for having them. {Unless you are muslim, of course, when all bets are off.}
Seriously, test me on this one!

Abu Quatada.

The trouble is, when you say you oppose recent Europe-originating Human Rights legislation, it can make you sound as though you are some kind of anti-freedom, anti-democrat.
["S/he opposes 'human rights' - must be some sort of fascist." ]
And don't the liberal left use that grossly misleading lever to the utmost?
Of course, it is the legislation itself which is wrong. It is designed to protect the guilty and not the innocent. It is fundamentally flawed - and one has to wonder whether something this crass might not have been deliberate and malicious rather than accidental. Who knows the thought processes of those determined to undermine any remaining vestiges of hope and justice in the EU nightmare?
Consider the case in the news this week of Abu Quatada.
Melanie says:
"What would any sane country do if it discovered that living among it was Osama Bin Laden's right-hand man, who was wanted by his own country on terrorism charges? It's a fair bet that it would deport him to that country as fast as it could."

We of course have decided instead to protect his 'human rights' and probably allow him to sponge benefits off us for the rest of his life.

Babies born to addicts.

So. Let me be sure to get an overview, here.

"The number of babies born to drug-addicted mothers has almost doubled in four years. There were 1,970 such babies born last year - compared with 1,057 in 2003."
I think that this will be an extremely good way of measuring levels of drug abuse and whether they are declining [ha, ha] or increasing.

Please remind me how long ago it was that this present moronic government downgraded
cannabis to Class C?

Deep Moral Outrage.

As short a time ago as the 1970s ,when I first entered the teaching profession [?], I can remember the deep moral outrage of so many, almost certainly a heavy majority of people, when someone was branded a thief.
At a school in a pit village, there was a profound sense of disappointment combined with disgust whenever such things were discovered. It appeared that the feeling was shared equally by staff, parents and pupils.
Latterly, this has gradually been eroded. Thievery today may raise the odd eyebrow; the odd comment but that is as far as it seems to go.
It is no longer considered to be a sign of social breakdown or moral deterioration. It is unlikely to result in school expulsions. It is seldom prosecuted and when it is, is seldom punished. This has largely coincided with a period in which the world has become less immoral and considerably more amoral.
These attitudes have been derived at least in part, from the mad, leftwing, world view that 'property is theft', a slogan originally coined by French anarchist Pierre-Joseph Proudhon [photo] in 1840. In true, hypocritical fashion, the generally well-heeled, liberal left cast admiring glances in that direction.
May I point out that when homes are burgled, it is much more likely to be the working class rather than the middle classes who will suffer.

Ah, Mr Archibald.

You could have heard a pin drop at the Hong Kong conference designed to persuade the airline industry to cut back on its production of so-called greenhouse gases to fight "global warming."
The "Greener Skies 2008" conference had just heard from David Archibald, a solar scientist asserting that
climate change
is mostly dictated by solar cycles, not carbon dioxide levels, as conventional wisdom suggests.
Archibald didn't just tell the group not to worry about carbon dioxide emissions. He told those gathered they should figure out ways of increasing CO2 output.
"In a few short years, we will have a reversal of the warming of the 20th century," Archibald warned, according to Cargo News Asia. "There will be significant cooling very soon. Our generation has known a warm, giving sun, but the new generation will suffer a sun that is less giving, and the earth will be less fruitful. Carbon dioxide is not even a little bit bad – it's wholly beneficial."

I just do not understand atheists.

Apparently a recent survey has shown that a majority of people believe in the physical resurrection of Jesus.
Okay. Fine. But apparently, this includes some declared atheists.
[???????????????????????????]

The basic problem is that atheism is not a logical position anyway:
"I KNOW that there is no God!"

"I suspect" or " I fear that " or "I am unconvinced by the evidence on offer... " Maybe.

Okay. Trouble is that those are all agnosticism.
Recently on Ceefax Letters, people have attempted to deny that 'atheism is in effect a religion'. Fine. But as what is purely a 'belief system' - and based on a step of faith - it comes pretty close.

Jerusalem.

It may be a thundering good tune by Hubert Parry but William Blake's words are truly a mishmash of old donkey droppings.
'Jerusalem' is not and never has been a hymn. It is a testament to silly legend.

"... and did those feet in ancient times walk upon England's green and pleasant land?'
- Er... No!

It is all based on a ridiculous folk tale that Joseph of Arimathea brought the boy Jesus on a package holiday to Glastonbury.
What utter tosh! And churches have sung about it? Bah humbug!
Well done to Southwark Cathedral for apparently banning it as the piece doesn't even mention God!
Unfortunately, this is not a purely Christian response but also has input from the ubiquitous PC lobby which claims that it should be banned for being militaristic. [The same mob who want to ban 'Onward Christian soldiers.'] Ah, me.
Still - I expect that even they can be right sometimes - even if only by accident!
I do not often want to see traditions rooted out - but in this case ...

The madness never ends.

Are you a criminal? Are you a single mother - (no embarrassing questions asked about what possible level of extreme promiscuity might have led to that situation) ? Are you homosexual? Are you disabled (possibly unable to cope)?

That is just super. You WILL be able to act as a foster parent in Somerset.

Are you a responsible, law abiding, CHRISTIAN, married couple who have standards?

Do you set guidelines and boundaries for your present children? Do you occasionally issue a well merited smack when you are defied?

YOU ARE TOTALLY UNSUITABLE!

I am sorry to have to keep asking the same old question. What would happen in identical circumstances in Somerset if the prospective foster carers were muslim?

Dave and Heather Bowen are unsuitable even when having agreed not to chastise any foster child. He is a respected school governor; she a special needs adviser.

The Cost of Immigration.

"More than a million immigrants live in housing subsidised by the taxpayer, a Government-sponsored report disclosed yesterday.

It said the number of foreigners in council or housing association accommodation had soared over the past five years.

One in nine subsidised homes is now occupied by a migrant family."

Another con with figures.

Periodically, it is announced that 3% of our prison population are 'banged up' for 'motoring offences'.
This only bears a passing resemblance to truth.
1} It includes people who have used 'cars as a weapon'; drivers so dangerous that they have threatened human life and in some cases have actually taken it.
2} These figures include the very worst of drink drivers - such as some who have reached a THIRD conviction and others who may have been three, four or even more times over the limit.
3} It includes those jailed for 'Driving whilst disqualified - and these days, that means multiple times!
[I have not been able to establish the fact, but believe that this figure also includes the TWOCers who, having stolen a car, then get involved in police chases endangering the public and the pursuing officers.]

Let us think again, shall we? - The next time that you hear that there are 'so many motorists in clink', you will perhaps be able to enjoy a rather more knowledgeable perspective.
'Motorists' - tosh!

Time is long overdue that there be a minimum 5 year sentence for those who indulge in car chases with police!

Envy.
