The UK MUST Keep Well Clear Of Syria!

A Catholic priest has been killed in Syria, it has been confirmed by the official Vatican news agency.
Franciscan Father Francois Murad died after fighters linked to the jihadist group Jabhat al-Nusra attacked the monastery he was staying at, local sources say.
Catholic Online links to amateur footage purporting to show the 49-year-old's horrific death and claims: "The Vatican is confirming the death by beheading of Franciscan Father, Francois Murad, who was martyred by Syrian jihadists on June 23." Huff Post.

'See You Later' - I HATE It!

From: R Urquhart, High Hunsley, Cottingham, East Yorkshire.
I HAVE been to various places today, and my visits included a shop, garage, bank, pub and a builders’ merchant.
When leaving each of the aforementioned premises, I was bade an enthusiastic farewell with the inviting, or perhaps, threatening statement: “See you later”.
As it is most unlikely I shall repeat any of these individual adventures for some considerable time, should I return soon to each establishment, if only to show my face?
Even some newsreaders join
in on the “see you later”
theme after completing their bulletins!
I remain utterly perplexed!

So Why Is Christianity Not Leftwing?

The simplest answer of all is that nowhere does Jesus ever advocate any form of socialism.
Try as much as you like - you will not find it!
He does warn against the dangers of trusting in wealth and selfishness. Quite rightly! (Hardly a socialist clarion call!)
He does not demand that the state should take over your life and your finances.
He does not undermine God.
He encourages people to build a relationship with God.
He does not undermine the social structure.
He does not advocate uncontrolled behaviour and passions.
He does not attack the social status quo.
He does not undermine marriage.
He does good without ever being a do-gooder.
He never advocates spending money that you do not have.
He cut through the false ideologies of His day and showed people 'The Way'.
He advocated 'trust in God rather than trust in systems'.
Never once does he suggest that tax burdens should be excessive.
He would clearly never have advocated 'the printing of money' to solve problems.
He even supports the idea of investment - He even tells a parable about it. (And yes, of course I am aware of the underlying spiritual meaning!)
He demands compassion for others whereas socialism only ever pretends to care.
I also recall that The Apostle Paul stated that if a man would not work - he should NOT eat!
This runs contrary to all modern socialism - Woy Jenkins even said that drones should not have to work if they didn't want to!
Socialism in the Scriptures? - No.
Some will point out that the apostles 'held all things in  common'. YES, but vitally - they were VOLUNTEERS!

Desperate Remedies.

On course to gain one of the six MEPs elected in Scotland next year?
Quite possible! Probably it would be the Lib Dems to lose out - maybe even the tories!

UKIP - 'A Flash In The Pan?'

Mr Danny Alexander, the Chief Secretary to the Treasury, said the laws promising an EU referendum" had been "conjured" by the Conservatives to see off the threat of Ukip.
Speaking on the BBC's Andrew Marr Show, criticised the Conservatives for letting the political agenda be led by Ukip, predicting they will be a political flash in the pan. Telegraph.
Of course, the gentleman may be perfectly correct as voters are known for being notoriously fickle.
Nonetheless, this is the kind of dangerous thinking from the LibLabCon which truly warms my heart.
They are underestimating the scorn in which LibLabCon politicians are held by so many ordinary people. WONDERFUL!  Referenda, genuine immigration controls - and even if the ECHR were to be abolished and every voter receive a £1,000 cheque - they do not seem to grasp that the genie is now out of the bottle - it is probably all too little - and too late.  I am not a natural optimist but do think that if Ukip can win the EU elections in the UK - which is highly probable - our politics will never be the same again!

Croatian Influx To Follow Bulgar And Rumanian Ones?

Croatia became the latest country to join the EUBritain faces new wave of immigration as Croatia joins the EU - with half its youth out of work
Croatia has a population of 4.2million and overall joblessness rate of more than 20 per cent. However, they must wait until their country has been in the EU for seven years, before they can take jobs in the UK. Mail.

Righteous Indignation

The righteous indignation professed by leftists when any statement is made criticising immigration is simply remarkable.
I have just visited a number of websites where bile has been outpoured at anyone daring to even hint at the truth.
The principal feature of these is their tendency to:
deride, scorn, cast aspersions, mock, insult and decry. (Were we able to see them, I am certain that they would all be somewhat loud, staring and a tad wild-eyed.)
The secondary feature is the total absence of: logic, a factual base which is not highly selective and argument rather than putting cases by assertion!
When a written piece is criticised by such writers, it would really be nice if they were to actually address a few of the points raised rather than descending into ad hominem jibes. (Nonetheless 5 out of 5 from the table above is pretty impressive!)

US Supreme Court Bias Showing Through!

"I am grateful that the Supreme Court upheld the right of the states to legally define marriage as the union of a man and a woman, rather than striking down such laws via judicial fiat," said George O. Wood, General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God. "However, I am concerned that the Court's uniformly negative portrayal of opponents of same-sex marriage in United States v. Windsor is both false and demeaning. And I am concerned that its Fifth Amendment reasons for overturning the federal definition of marriage (in the Defense of Marriage Act) will be used in the future to overturn similar state definitions."

The White Queen.

AT LAST! We have finally got a major historical drama on TV which is NOT about the ruddy Tudors!
Okay. I know that Philippa Gregory is not in the Hilary Mantel class as a writer - and there has been a tad too much simpering in the opening episodes - but it is about Edward The Fourth. Yippee! A much welcomed departure to a fascinating period of history!
