After a series of bland pitches the England batsmen were simply unable to cope with a wicket which had genuine bounce which was aided by the lofty height of the home side's faster bowlers.
Like incompetent schoolboys, they fended chest high balls away - most of which they had no need to play at all - and saw their wickets collapse to straightforward catches.

We have got accustomed to huge batting collapses in the test squad - they have been the order of the day for around five years - but this is not expected from the highest ranked ODI team in the world.

So-Called Social Justice.

Progressives maintain a “religion of social justice” that leads them to attack Christians who live their faith openly, according to a panel at the Conservative Political Action Conference.

Allie Beth Stuckey, host of the Christian podcast “Relatable” who oversees “The Conservative Millennial” blog, was part of a panel Thursday that focused on the value of religious liberty and its contribution to overall freedom.

“There are people who say that secularism or the denial of religion, even the repressing of religion, will lead to more freedom, it will lead to more tolerance, it will lead to more inclusion,” said Stuckey.

“Obviously, that’s an ironic statement in and of itself. But there’s actually another religion that is taking over, that is dominating, that’s not a lack of religion, it’s a new religion of postmodernism, of moral relativism.”

Stuckey went on to argue that Americans who believe that religion should be practiced at home or in private do not lack religion, but rather have “donned the religion of social justice.”

“They’ve actually donned the religion of progressivism where intersectionality is one of their key doctrines and identity politics is part of their worship,” she continued.

“So what we’re seeing is not this advancement of atheism or this advancement of agnosticism or secularism. It’s the religion of progressivism and social justice and moral relativism that says ‘this is the religion that needs to dominate in order for us to be tolerant.’”

“And what we see throughout history, and what we’re already seeing now is that progressivism is not a tolerant religion.”

Matthew Spalding, associate vice president and dean of Educational Programs for Hillsdale College in Washington, D.C., who was also part of the panel, agreed and then added that people still naturally yearn for truth and to learn more.

“Modern culture has tried to push religion into a smaller and smaller and smaller box. ‘You got to keep it at home or you got to keep it in the confessional,’” explained Spalding.

“But as a result, a lot of people, especially young people, are still yearning to find something and they want to know that truth, which unfortunately draws a lot of people into not only crazy ideas, like the environment is the new god, but also drives them to despair.”  

Spalding also talked about the need for American Christians to be actively involved in the fight for religious liberty, not simply trusting the Trump administration to solve the problem for them.

“The current administration is doing a great job of appointing good judges. The Supreme Court looks like it's going to pull back on some of these things after a long period of being very hostile,” continued Spalding.

“But that’s not going to be enough. We can’t disengage, we can’t leave it to other people. From the point of view of our faith we need to be engaged and outwardly focused. But from the point of view of being a good citizen, I think we also have to be engaged.”

U.S. Senator James Lankford, R-Okla., the third member of the panel, spoke about being in youth ministry for about 22 years before entering Congress and how he was told that he should not apply his beliefs to his elected position.

“I have people all the time that will catch me and say, ‘Well, you used to be in a ministry position but now you’re in Congress, now you need to set aside your faith, because you’re in a secular role,’” said Lankford.

“And I enjoy smiling at them and saying, ‘I need to introduce you to a document called the United States Constitution. And in that document, Article VI … of the Constitution says there’s no religious test for any officer of the United States.’”

Last year, the term social justice was the source of much debate and controversy among evangelical circles, as some argued that the phrase was inherently anti-biblical.

In August, influential California Pastor John MacArthur criticized what he called evangelicals' "newfound obsession with the notion of 'social justice'" in a series of blog posts. That was followed by a statement signed by other evangelical leaders.

“Specifically, we are deeply concerned that values borrowed from secular culture are currently undermining Scripture in the areas of race and ethnicity, manhood and womanhood, and human sexuality. The Bible's teaching on each of these subjects is being challenged under the broad and somewhat nebulous rubric of concern for 'social justice,’” read the statement in part.

Other evangelicals criticized the statement. Russell Moore, president of the Southern Baptist Convention's Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission, responded that he believed people claiming to oppose social justice “don't really believe it [because they] don't act that way when it comes to the issues they care about and in most cases rightly care about."

"In almost every case, we are not really talking about social justice and we are not even talking about social engagement broadly. We are almost always talking about race,” said Moore.

“I don't even want to concede to the conceit that what we are talking about is a broader issue of social engagement because again, that is almost never the case. Some of the very people who would say this are the people who have talked about, and rightly so, abortion and the systemic public problem of abortion.” CP.

ORLANDO – 60,000 Christians from across the United States gathered Saturday to be part of a "new Jesus movement." 

"The Send," was a 10-hour event organized by Youth With A Mission, Christ for All Nations, and Lou Engle of Lou Engle Ministries. The Orlando, Florida event at Camping World Stadium featured several collaborators from various national ministries who hoped to motivate Christians to fulfill their God-given call.

According to Engle, the live-streamed event was inspired by a conversation in 2011 with YWAM members hoping missionaries would rise up following the death of Rev. Billy Graham. Christian Post.

This Blog Continues To Demand A Major Cull On Corvidae in the UK.

Hot weather has driven hungry magpies to attack donkeys in what is becoming a “critical” problem, a sanctuary has said.

Four elderly donkeys at Radcliffe Donkey Sanctuary in Huttoft, Lincolnshire, are being “picked on” by “flesh-eating” magpies that are inflicting wounds the size of £2 coins onto the animals.

Volunteer Ross Clarke said one particular donkey, Jack, was being made “a meal of" by the birds pecking through a dressing on one of the wounds. Telegraph.

Blogger: When we moved into our present postcode some 44 years ago - the only magpie I ever saw was one which was a pet and which voluntarily stayed with its teenage master.

Today, we are at infestation levels. To these we can add a great many crows and jackdaws which also plunder the nests of songbirds at a higher rate than do even the alien, grey squirrel predators and domestic cats which do not wear a collar and bell.

The absence of songbirds on my walking treks in local woods and parkland grieves me greatly. They used to be there - and are no longer. Pesticides certainly cannot be blamed in these particular areas!

It is simply appalling that Coble should have been executed thirty years after his conviction.
It is wholly right that the American legal system should have a death penalty (as indeed should the gutless UK!) for crimes as heinous as those committed by this man. If ever anyone should have forfeited his right to life - it was he. Genesis 9:6 - and NO - Jesus did not take away this social duty from the authorities.
It is not the duty of the state to run away from its bounden duties to produce the justice required in such a terrible situation. Individuals must forgive: that, however, is not a requirement of the state. Read ALL of your Bible carefully - and check out the New Testament too!

BUT - was the Coble of 2019 the same Coble who perpetrated these dreadful deeds back in 1989?


Justice delayed is justice denied. Has there ever been a better example?
The delays from conviction to execution in the American system are intolerable. Just how many appeals against sentence should there be? - One, of course. Two, perhaps. That is it - and there should be time restraints on the non-stop appeals which are permitted and misused by the defence to try to prevent the lawful and moral removal of the most evil people from our planet.
Might I even suggest that 12 months is too long a period to wait.

The death penalty is brought into disrepute which should never happen. The moral high ground has been frittered away.

What sickens me to the stomach even more is that those self-same liberal hypocrites who shout the loudest in the face of true justice are frequently the very people who demand that babies be butchered inside the womb - and the worst amongst these even insist that this should be extended to fully grown, viable children right up to the point of birth.

International Women's Day 2019 and The Wonderful Work of Lepra.

International Women's Day 2019.

International Women's Day is nearly here and we would like to show you how [any who] support us [have] helped women affected by leprosy. Many women affected by leprosy live in poverty, making access to healthcare extremely difficult. Your support helps to provide equal access to healthcare in India, Bangladesh and Mozambique.

When Rachna (pictured above) had leprosy, discoloured patches appeared on her forehead. Rachna's husband abandoned her and her family feared that their community would hate Rachna if they discovered she had leprosy. Rachna was misdiagnosed several times and feared the prejudice she may face from her community. That was until we were able to correctly diagnose the disease. We provided Rachna with the cure, along with surgery for her eyes and post-treatment support to promote her recovery. We believe women affected by leprosy deserve support rather than judgement. No woman should be abandoned, divorced or have her children taken away from her because she has been affected by leprosy, a curable disease. Rachna is now a Community Champion and has helped others to learn how to look after themselves and how to reduce the threat of an injury due to nerve damage.
