German Far-Left Extremists Topple Statue to Dresden Firebombing Victims.

Far-left extremists have taken credit for toppling a statue in the German city of Dresden that was dedicated to the civilians who died during the fire-bombings of the city during the Second World War.
The group “Autonomous Action Group Dresden De-Nazifies” took credit for toppling the “Sea of Tears” memorial to those killed during the firebombing of the city in 1945, which saw what estimates claim as being from 25,000 to between 35,000 to 135,000 civilians and others killed over a period of two nights on February 13th and 14th.
According to the far-left extremists who took credit on the far-left Antifa-linked website Indymedia, the monument, the civilians killed during the bombings “were not victims, they were perpetrators.”
“Actions have consequences, to mourn Dresden’s bomb deaths in collective remembrance is wrong. The victims of German barbarism should be mourned, the victory over it should be celebrated,” the group said. Breitbart.

Violence in Uganda.

Islamic extremists on Saturday (January 29) stopped an evangelist on his way to participate in a debate about Christianity and Islam in Kampala, Uganda and beat him unconscious, he said.
Charles Kamya, 43, said he was about 300 meters from the open-air debate site in the Bwaise area of Kampala when two men stopped his car.
“I stopped my car only to be ambushed by six other Muslims in Islamic attire who resurfaced from the bush at around midday,” Kamya told Morning Star News from his hospital bed.
He said one of the assailants told him, “You have been terrorizing our religion. Today Allah has called you, and you are going to meet him.”
“Some beat me badly while others cut me with some objects, and I lost a lot of blood as they pulled me out of my car and threw me out,” he said.

A blow to the head with an iron bar left him unconscious for about two hours, he said. A passerby found him in a pool of blood and called police.
“They arrived immediately and saved my life,” Kamya said. “The attackers did not damage my car or take anything inside the car. They only wanted to destroy my life.”
After initial treatment, he was transferred to another hospital for specialized care, but his father has requested he be discharged because the assailants were monitoring his movements and could attack him there, he said.
A resident of a town east of Kampala undisclosed for security reasons, Kamya on Jan. 24 had debated Muslims in Jinja after going to the mosque there to buy a Koran on Jan. 21, accompanied by a Muslim convert to Christianity, he said. He used the Koran in the Jan. 24 debate, he said.
“I used the Koran to show Muslims that from the beginning of the Earth to date, God wants all people to be saved including Muslims,” Kamya said. “I also discussed Surah 72 about the powers of evil jinn, and that they can be defeated by Issa [Jesus], and many Muslims converted to Christ. One sheikh wanted to grab the Koran from me, but I refused and left immediately.”
The debate on Saturday (Jan. 29) was organized by Bwaise area churches.
“It was well publicized, with my photo displayed as the main debater of the day in Christian-Muslim dialogue,” Kamya said.
The assault was the latest of many instances of persecution of Christians in Uganda that Morning Star News has documented.
Uganda’s constitution and other laws provide for religious freedom, including the right to propagate one’s faith and convert from one faith to another. Muslims make up no more than 12 per cent of Uganda’s population, with high concentrations in eastern areas of the country.

FAITH STORIES BIBLE

‘WE DIDN’T WANT TO WASTE TIME FEELING SORRY FOR OURSELVES.’      ETERNITY.

Katie’s story | Accepting God’s goodness when it doesn’t go to plan.

FAITH STORIES WITH NAOMI REED | NOVEMBER 24TH, 2021
“Six years ago, my husband and I started trying for a baby. Neither of us thought there’d be an issue. We tried for a year before going to see the GP who sent us to a specialist. He suggested IVF. At the time it didn’t feel right, so we put it off. God shifted our focus for a little while and we eventually found ourselves moving to the Blue Mountains, west of Sydney.
Months later, we felt God’s push to think about family again, so after seeing a specialist and months of tests, we started an IVF cycle in 2018. Our expectations were low. The doctors said our chances were not great, but we were overwhelmed with joy when we found we could make embryos! The first one took. It felt like God was finally making it happen for us!
At 11 and a half weeks we had a miscarriage. We were heartbroken. We still had one embryo from that cycle. We trusted God had a plan, even if we didn’t understand, so tried again in 2019. The embryo took. We were hopeful again. However, at 11 weeks, we found out we had lost this one as well.
It hit us even harder. We hadn’t really processed the first grief, so it took us longer to recover. We’d been trying to trust God this whole time. We knew he had a plan and he was good. But his timing was obviously different to ours and it was hard to understand what he could possibly be doing through all of this heartache.
The word ‘peace’ kept coming to mind. At times I felt God’s peace surrounding me. I felt close to him. But at other times I felt distant and confused. Early on, my husband said we shouldn’t waste this time feeling sorry for ourselves. We needed to be content, regardless. We decided we wanted to use our current state to be a blessing to other families. We’d started attending a new church that was focused on young families. There were children and babies everywhere. At first, it was hard. We’d just had our second miscarriage. But we decided not to pull back emotionally. God gave us the ability to support other families by loving their children. We couldn’t have done it in our own strength! It was a real lesson for us … not to focus on our own lack. He protected us from bitterness and gave us real joy. We started to see that everyone has their own difficulties, but that God is good.
Later that year we started another round of IVF and made three embryos. By the time we were ready to transfer them, COVID hit and delayed things. We prayed for patience and trusted in God’s timing. When restrictions eased we went ahead in 2020. The first two didn’t attach. The third embryo took, we were pregnant, but a few days later we had a third miscarriage. This was our lowest point. We didn’t understand what God was doing and felt like giving up. We stopped and reassessed.
It was during this time we learnt that even if a baby didn’t happen for us, we would be okay. We would be content … and contentment is a choice. We decided to do one last round of IVF. If it didn’t work, we’d stop, knowing God had different plans for us. We got one embryo and had it transferred in early 2021. Although I had low expectations, the embryo took. We were pregnant! We were cautious but excited. Our excitement continued all year!
Annie was born in mid-September this year. She was five and a half weeks early. Even her birth didn’t go to plan! But God gave us an incredible peace throughout the whole birth and we knew without any doubts that he was in control. As I look back, I know God has taught me a massive lesson in letting go and trusting his plans. His goodness isn’t dependent on our situation. In everything, he wants us to draw closer to him, to keep trusting and seeking him, regardless of our circumstances, like it says in Proverbs 3:5-6: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”

Pastor goes to court over tweet opposing LGBTQ Pride events.

A Christian pastor has claimed he was hounded out of his job as a school caretaker over a tweet in which he said Christians and children should not attend LGBTQ Pride events.
Keith Waters, 55, who also pastors a local evangelical church, resigned from his job after he was investigated by the school over a June 2019 tweet coinciding with the start of Pride month.
He wrote in the tweet: "A reminder that Christians should not support or attend LGBTQ 'Pride Month' events held in June. They promote a culture and encourage activities that are contrary to Christian faith and morals. They are especially harmful to children."
The Christian Legal Centre (CLC), which is representing Waters, said he was told by colleagues that his tweet was "highly inappropriate and offensive", that the school had been brought into disrepute, and that he had broken the code of conduct. He was then issued with a final written warning.
Waters said he was left with no choice but to resign.
He is claiming for constructive dismissal, indirect discrimination and breach of public sector equality duty.
His case is being heard by an employment tribunal in Cambridge this week, where lawyers from the Christian Legal Centre will argue that his former employer interfered with his rights to freedom of religion, expression and thought.
They will also argue that Waters was entitled to manifest his religious beliefs on sexual ethics in his tweet, and that the views expressed did not amount to homophobia or discrimination against homosexuals.
Waters said people should be free to raise concerns about Pride events without fear of recrimination.
"I was left with the choice of resigning or being silenced and unable to express my beliefs as a Christian pastor," he said.
"I had lots of parents pulling me to the side telling me that they supported me, but they wouldn't dare say so out of fear that the social media mob would also turn on them.
"Being given a final warning meant that I would not be able to do the things I do as a pastor, which is standing up for the truth of the Bible.
"I'm not doing this because I want to sue the school, but because I believe it's the right thing to do. I want to ensure that other pastors in the future that have to work part time in a secular organisation, will be free to preach the truth and not lose their job.
"I still stand by what I said, and I'll always stand up for the truth. I believe that children's safety is paramount."
Commenting on the case, CLC chief executive Andrea Williams said: "Despite an abundance of psychological studies concluding that children exposed to sexually explicit content at an early age are more likely to develop disorders and addictions, there are many articles online that encourage parents to bring their children to Pride parades.
"Why should a Christian pastor not be able to speak out on such concerning issues without being threatened and losing his job?
"Keith's story is part of a cancel culture where issues, such as LGBTQ Pride, cannot be questioned or critiqued without individuals being silenced, vilified or worse.
"We stand with Keith as he seeks justice this week." CT.

Mark Wahlberg and Mel Gibson will be sharing the big screen this spring a new faith inspired movie about a troublemaker who becomes a respected priest.
"Father Stu" is based on the real life figure of Father Stuart Long whose promising boxing career was cut short by injury.
After numerous setbacks in life, the former agnostic has an unexpected vision of God that inspires him to become a priest - a decision he never looks back from.
He will be played by Wahlberg in the movie, which releases in US theatres on April 15.
"Father Stu's journey from troublemaker to clergyman was inspiring to many, including me," Wahlberg said.
"Rosey [director Rosalind Ross] has done an incredible job capturing the essence of who he was and how he affected the people he met. I hope that with this film, we keep his spirit alive and continue his good works."
Gibson will play his father in a supporting role in the movie alongside other cast members, Jacki Weaver and Teresa Ruiz.
Gibson's partner, Rosalind Ross, wrote the script for the movie, which is also her directorial debut. CT.

Pastor's Murder.

Pakistani pastor shot dead in ambush attack after Sunday service; mourners chant 'Long live Jesus Christ'.

(CP) In what police called a "terrorist act," two unidentified men followed a pastor returning home in his car after a Sunday worship service and shot him to death in Pakistan's northwestern city of Peshawar, which in 2013 was the scene of one of the deadliest attacks on Christians in the country.
The pastor, identified as 75-year-old William Siraj of Shaheed-e-All Saints Church from the Church of Pakistan denomination comprising Methodist and Anglican churches, was shot twice in the abdomen as he and his colleague, identified as Pastor Patrick Naeem, were driving home from church on Sunday.
The shooting occurred near Ring Road in the city's Gulbahar area, leaving Pastor Siraj dead and Pastor Naeem injured, Pakistan's Dawn newspaper reported, adding that Naeem had been discharged from the hospital where he was treated for minor injuries.
Pastor Siraj's body had been handed over to his family.
News channels showed emergency services removing the pastor from the car as people chanted "Long live Jesus Christ" while carrying his body on a bed through the streets to a house, according to Reuters.
"We demand justice and protection of Christians from the Government of Pakistan," tweeted Bishop Azad Marshall from the Church of Pakistan.
Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby also responded to the news of the attack. "... We pray for the light of Christ's justice, hope and peace for our sisters and brothers in the Church of Pakistan," he wrote on Twitter.
Capital City Police Officer Abbas Ahsan called it a "terror attack" and said, "We are determined to protect minorities."
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province's Chief Minister Mahmood Khan offered his condolences to the Christian community and the family of the deceased.
On Saturday, Pakistan's interior minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed warned of possible terrorist strikes across the country over the next two months as security agencies had learned about sleeper cells of militant outfits in that region, The Times of India reported. CT.
No one had claimed responsibility for the shooting as of Monday.

Dear Rishi, I Watched You Yesterday On TV ...

... and you made much of global prices for energy.

Yet, you failed to say that this government is not prepared to put aside the Net Zero folly and use the huge amounts of relatively cheap shale gas with which these islands have been blessed.
There is a far superior solution at hand which our politicians are choosing to ignore AT OUR EXPENSE.

Understanding the Times, Recognising the Signs

Understanding the Times, Recognising the Signs

Taking a stand

“Understanding the times” is a theme that should resonate in our hearts as we seek to navigate life in 2021. “What is truth?”, Pilate mused (Jn 18:38). Truth or deception, integrity or agenda, freedom or control, guidance or censorship – how do we make sense of it all? We certainly need to put on our spiritual armour (Eph 6), pray, and having done all, stand. But where do we take our stand when faced with the present-day avalanche of information.
Christians have an anchor for the soul that is grounded in the finished work of Christ (Heb 6:19). Like Gideon’s 300-strong army, our faith needs to overcome fear (Judges 7:3). These truths provide us with a secure starting point.

Unprecedented but not unpredicted

“These are unprecedented days” declare our secular leaders; and they surely are. But “unpredictable” days? Absolutely not. For the Christian these days are not unprecedented either to the Lord or the Bible. Matthew 16:1-3 records Jesus making the point to the Pharisees and Sadducees that though they knew how to interpret the appearance of the sky, they couldn’t interpret the signs of the times.
For the Christian these days are not unprecedented either to the Lord or the Bible.
This raises the question as to what signs we might, or should, be noticing. End-times opinions vary but we can ask if there is anything happening that looks like what the Bible indicates. This should help us in our perspective and discernment of current events. Here are some signs which are worthy of note (none of which stand alone nor should be assessed in isolation).
Israel re-born as a nation and the Jewish people returning to the land. It seems clear that end-time events in the Scriptures set out waypoints in terms of the land, the nation and the people (Is 11:11-12; Zech 10:9-10; Is 66:8).
Israel a military power. Ezekiel 38-39 predicts the well-known Gog/Magog war against Israel which involves a coalition of nations. They would only need such a coalition if they faced a powerful opponent.
A coalition of nations. Is there such a grouping to the north of Israel? We notice current strong political/military elements within Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Iran and Turkey actively threatening Israel – and we also have Russia in the mix.
Peace treaty? Daniel 9:27 appears to predict some sort of Middle East peace agreement that will turn out to be a ruse. In 2020 the ‘Abraham Accord’ peace agreement was launched by the US and Israel and signatures have already been obtained from the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Morocco and Sudan.
One world religion and government. We are warned of this in Revelation 13 and 17, so what is visible? We know of the ‘Chrislam’ initiative which has support from some Christian, Jewish and Muslim leaders. We may be aware of documents that Pope Francis has approved with leaders of other religions. He has also called for the creation of a global education system, with humanity, not God, at its centre. There have been increasing calls for a global government approach to global problems, where elected authority is given over to the non-elected, who will ‘solve’ our problems. Developments have moved fast in recent years. We ought not to ignore the lack of spiritual resistance to this prospect, reflected in the rise of an apostate church.
A global power grab that is satanically backed and given authority (Rev 13:4, 12; 17:12-13).
An apostate church? We can see Matthew 24:10 at work in a falling away from biblical truth with deceptive teaching. Cultural acceptance of what the Church stands for is more important than declaring the uniqueness of Christ. Ungodly behaviours and laws are not challenged. We have been warned that not standing for the Truth will release a great delusion (2 Thess 2:10-11).
The Nations (ethne). We’re all familiar with Jesus’ statement that the gospel will reach all nations before the end comes (Matt 24:14). Whilst this commission is well on its way to completion, we must also include his previous comment in verse 9 that believers would be hated by all nations! To the astonishment of many, we even see this coming to pass in what has been historically regarded as the gospel-sending nations of the West.
Cultural acceptance of what the Church stands for is more important than declaring the uniqueness of Christ
The Days of Noah. Do we see evidence around us of what Jesus meant in Matthew 24:37? In Noah’s time people did not relate what was happening to impending danger, they were blind to a calamitous change to their way of life. Even more provocative was transhumanism. Women had birthed children with the sons of God (fallen angels) – resulting in the Nephilim; hybrid humans – exactly what is being promoted today by the World Economic Forum and the US military with their cyborg research. With interest and support particularly from the mega-rich, for them this is no less than a desire to do away with the Fall of man and live forever: no need for a Saviour.
Mark of the Beast? (Rev 13:17). There is absolutely no doubt now that implant technology exists to provide readable subcutaneous devices. Even this process is being overtaken by nano technology which can be inserted in the body, programmed and read. Information needed e.g. vaccine passports, digital ID and banking, could easily be loaded. Remember the purpose of the mark is simple – you cannot buy or sell.
  • You. What information is needed to describe you, to validate who you are? Personal details, medical/dental records, facial recognition? Passports have the latter and the UK government is working on digital ID.
  • Cannot. What permissions do you need? Vaccinated, non-terrorist (will evangelical Christians be included?), socially compliant with approved societal norms and approved social credit score? Systems are being trialled in different countries.
  • Buy or sell. The UK is proposing going cashless. So access to and use of your money will be internet-based. This can easily be regulated by the authorities if needed, or frozen.
Everything needed for such a mark is now in hand.
Information needed e.g. vaccine passports, digital ID and banking, could easily be loaded. Remember the purpose of the mark is simple – you cannot buy or sell.
This array of simplified signs should remind us how the Bible prophesies an interlinked, complex web of deception that we will need both the Word and the Spirit, along with support from fellow believers, to find our way through. The beginnings of birth pangs (Matt 24:8) are visible in our day. Evil agendas are also at work and we must not be unaware of the enemy’s schemes (2 Cor 2:11).
While ever alert to the enemy’s devices, let us keep our focus on the Lord. “But my eyes are upon You, O God the Lord; In You I take refuge; Do not leave my soul destitute. Keep me from the snares they have laid for me, And from the traps of the workers of iniquity. Let the wicked fall into their own nets, while I escape safely” (Ps 141:8-10).
