You aren't going to believe this. Madam speaker Nancy Pelosi wants to put a Windfall Tax on all stock market profits (including Retirement fund, 401K and Mutual Funds!
Alas, it is true - principally to help the 12 Million Illegal Immigrants and other unemployed Minorities!
This woman is frightening. She quotes..." We need to work toward the goal of equalizing income, (Didn't Karl Marx say something like this?), and at the same time limiting the amount the rich can invest." (I am not rich, are you?)When asked how these new tax dollars would be spent, she replied:"We need to raise the standard of living of our poor, unemployed and minorities.
For example, we have an estimated 12 million illegal immigrants in our country who need our help along with millions of unemployed minorities. Stock market windfall profits taxes could go a long way to guarantee these people the standard of living they would like to have as 'Americans'."

I despair!

Justice is ROTTEN!

In an extremely violent, unprovoked incident, James Thomson had an argument with a bouncer then returned on at least two further occasions to assault him.
He also violently assaulted three police officers in the execution of their duty.
Thomson was given a four-month prison sentence for each of the charges he admitted, to run concurrently - but it was suspended for two years. he was tagged and given 200 hours community service.

When I began on the Bench in 1996, the assault of somebody serving the public like a bouncer and especially a police officer was 'entry point custody'. One punch to the face would have been enough.

This low life has assaulted FOUR different people in at least six attacks. REMEMBER, they were unprovoked!

It is intolerable that anybody should be sentenced thus for such crimes.

[Did I mention that he is the son of the recently deceased Carol Barnes? - A fact which he cynically used as an excuse - and one which apparently influenced the wretched magistrates in Brighton to fail utterly in their duty to protect the public.]

I thought justice was meant to be BLIND!

"Victims could be allowed a say in the way criminals are punished in court – but only if they call for leniency rather than harsh sentencing.
For the first time, magistrates and judges could be ordered to listen to victims – or bereaved relatives – and be guided by their views on how an offender should best be punished.
But, crucially, only messages of forgiveness would be taken into consideration."

From the point of view of justice, this is morally appalling.
It is absolutely beyond the pale that two criminals with identical crimes and similar records should be sentenced differently, no matter whether this is moving up or down the sentencing scale.

Energy solution?

What has Great Britain got very little of? - Er, energy!

Right. So what have we got rather a lot of? (Bearing in mind that we are islands.)

- Er. water? - Correct.

But more specifically, waves.

Scientists have invented the 'anaconda' which is a water-filled, rubbery tubey thingy which can simply be deposited where waves are plentiful and it gives us clean, uncomplicated, not unsightly, relatively cheap electricity.

Meanwhile, back at the parliamentary buildings, the idiot-in-chief is planning to spend £100 billion on giant, quixotic wind turbines which will fail to produce any energy some 70% of the time and are a major blot on the landscape.

Come on Gordon. For the sake of all pity - do something right - for once. Please.

In view of the details I gave last week about the knife-toting low life my pupils and I witnessed being subjected to unbelievable kindness in court, might I suggest that you read the link below.
Please take note how the egregious guidelines had only provided for a token community sentence.
Just what is the insane base to their philosophies which makes politicians such as Straw so terminally stupid in their dealings with the criminal, violent and underclass sections of our society?

European Arrest Warrants.

Childhood obesity.

We are constantly assailed with statistics regarding childhood obesity - and when clearly, most children do not exercise to any great extent as well as stuffing their faces perpetually with junk food, this would not be too surprising.
My problem is the evidence of my own eyes which rather contradicts this.
When I think back to my own school days and the 'fatties' who were to be found in so many classes and then I compare to the classes I have taught in recent years, I would have said that then was considerably worse than now.
It is very like the links between weight and heart problems. Exceptional cases apart where weight really must have been an issue, the vast majority of people I know who have had heart problems have been quite thin, often slight - in many cases exceptionally so.
I may be wrong about this. My 'snapshot' is inevitably a limited one. My perceptions may be mistaken. It is just that we are so frequently misled and deceived from on high that I seem to be permanently suspicious these days.

You typify out of touch politicians. You have no concept of what it is like to have your pension wrecked by inept politicians; no idea what it is like to see the jobs in your factory all going to Eastern Europeans; not the slightest inkling of what it is like to be unable to get a foot on the housing ladder as a young person; you could not guess the pain caused by petrol price rises - nor do you grasp the panic running through households as you and your precious EU allow prices to run amok whilst your government pretends that inflation is a mere 3%.

NOW, you dare to patronise us. How dare you tell ME how to manage my budget?


I already manage my budget to the maximum and the only food we ever throw out is salad leaves - a few pence per week.

Social failure.

One of the most lamentable failures of this nation in modern times has been the idealists' decision to license criminals so they are able to do pretty much as they please.
At what point will the liberal left and assorted do-gooders admit that they have been monumentally mistaken, do you think? - [ Yes, me too! ]
The problem is that their attitudes have begun to worm their way gradually into the thought patterns of that growing section of the population who confuse thinking with parroting media soundbites, the origins of which are almost always found in the liberal left.
I do however, need to make an apology.
I made a grave error recently when I stated that this country has no death penalty.
I now accept that I was totally wrong about that.

We DO have a death penalty - it is just that it is operated wholly by criminals.

Certain leading figures have declared the 'inevitability' of Sharia law becoming part of our own legal system.
This cannot be! Virtually all Christian influence has been rooted out of the system.

God can forgive anybody's sins - no problem.

Society is given the task of meting out criminal justice.






Individuals are NOT permitted feelings of vengeance.






This is all basic Christian teaching.






When society executes its power correctly - feelings of injustice from the victims are negligible. We all must answer to God for our sins and society for our crimes. God does not forgive crimes.










Against this backcloth, we can view an event so terrible reported this last week that all arguments against capital punishment MUST automatically fail. Anything less than a lex talionis solution is an abomination.







To tie a young man to a tree; to torture him; to force him to drink petrol before setting him alight to suffer unspeakable terrors and an agonising death.


Such acts are so terrible that they automatically surrender any right or entitlement to life.












NO SOLUTION SHORT OF A ROPE AROUND THE NECK AFTER A SHORT 8am WALK CAN BE CONSIDERED JUSTICE; A JUSTICE WHICH IS COLD, NEUTRAL, DISPASSIONATE AND THEREFORE UNRECOGNISABLE AS REVENGE IN ANY WAY.

These Year 7 boys need to learn early that they must NOT breach the human rights of their teacher even if he is a fully paid up idiot.

No to cannabis!

This Blog remains resolutely opposed to cannabis use. I am not an out and out libertarian - lines in sand must be drawn.
Skunk cannabis users are 18 times more likely to develop psychosis than those who smoke milder forms of the drug, doctors have warned.
Skunk can be ten times stronger than other types of the drug and has become the most common variety in recent years.
Researchers from the Institute of Psychiatry in London compared data on almost 200 cannabis users.
More than half were being treated for psychosis, in which hallucinations and delusions leave sufferers unable to tell between real and imagined.
Skunk was the drug of choice for psychosis sufferers, with users 18 times more likely to develop the condition

Early release scandal.

It has been recent practice to release prisoners upon completion of just half of their sentence if their behaviour 'inside' is not too terrible.
This has been applied to all sentences of under 4 years.
Those over 4 years have only had a remission of one third although I note that recently, one half has become the norm and serious criminals are suing if not given this!
In addition to this we have 29,000 prisoners who have been released even earlier over a period of just 11 months in order to release pressure on our wretched prison system.
Please do NOT believe the propaganda in the BBC's Criminal Justice drama which indicated that a life sentence for murder would carry a full 15 years. It is simply and laughably untrue.
I shall repeat the facts and leave you 'to do the math'.
We have some 3,600 'lifers' currently. We hand out about 8oo life sentences each year, the vast majority of which are for homicide.
Now do you believe the propaganda? - An average life sentence is therefore ....

Gang loyalty has replaced family ties for many British youths, Britain's leading female chief constable has warned.
Barbara Wilding, the Chief Constable of South Wales, said many 'almost feral youths' have turned to gang culture based on drugs and violence because they do not feel security at home.

Speed of light? - It ain't so fast.

'WE HAVE BROKEN THE SPEED OF LIGHT' claims a pair of German physicists - an achievement that would undermine our entire understanding of space and time, as Einstein's special theory of relativity claims it would require an infinite amount of energy to propel an object at more than 186,000 miles per second.However, Dr Gunter Nimtz and Dr Alfons Stahlhofen, of the University of Koblenz,say they may have breached a key tenet of that theory while investigating a phenomenon called quantum tunnelling. The pair say they have conducted an experiment in which microwave photons - energetic packets of light - travelled "instantaneously" between a pair of prisms that had been moved up to 3ft apart. Being able to travel faster than the speed of light would lead to bizarre consequences such as an astronaut moving faster than light would theoretically arrive at a destination before leaving.

This means that if the speed of light is not the constant that it is claimed to be then all calculations of the age of the universe based on belief in a fixed value forlight are suspect. (Ref. Setterfield, Light, fact).
There is already evidence that the current speed of light has been slowing down which would have a similar effect on all long age calculations for the beginning of the universe and such times would be dramatically compacted.
