Shouwang Church, one of the thousands of illegal unregistered churches across China, has found itself in the spotlight as the world debates China's limits on religious freedom. Churches in China are legal only if they registered with the government, which then often puts limits on their ability to grow and evangelize. The government also has blocked attempts by Shouwang to meet indoors. The church, which reportedly has around 1,000 members, saw its pastor, pastor's wife and other members arrested in broad daylight Sunday morning, April 10, when it attempted to hold an outdoor worship service on a public space in Beijing.'Self explanatory title. I abhor that nicey nicey, politically correct, pseudo-Christianity which almost always supports leftwing attitudes - which in most cases are profoundly anti-Gospel. This Blog supports persecuted Christians. This Blog exposes cults. This Blog opposes junk science. UPDATED DAILY. This is not a forum. This Blog supports truly Christian websites and aids their efforts. It is hardhitting and unashamedly evangelical so if it offends - please do not come to this site!

Chinese church won't stop meeting, despite demands.
'The Beijing church that saw more than 160 of its members arrested April 10 for meeting illegally says it will continue to hold services outdoors in spite of the Chinese government's demands that it stop, reports Baptist Press.

Clearly, community punishments offer a way out to people who have got themselves enmeshed in crime and who want to change BUT how are these supposed to work with those who have absolutely NO interest in changing?
Your chances of jail for failing to appear periodically are extremely low.
In the USA it is probation officers who send felons to prison for breaches - here, that breed see themselves as an extension of defence solicitors and barristers!
It just never ends. Why are there not millions on the streets?
'Eurocrats have demanded an inflation-busting budget increase which would saddle British taxpayers with a £10billion EU bill - the equivalent of £400 per household - for the first time. The European Commission ignored David Cameron’s demands for belt-tightening and demanded a 4.9 per cent budget bump'. (Mail)
What? - Only FIFTY?
Leftwing politics is responsible for the majority of the great disasters which assail our nation today.
True - it cannot really take the blame for the inception of the malevolent EU - but it was certainly prepared to hijack it to further its own negative ends.True - capitalism has had some severely detrimental effects on society but even if the aristocratic right has had some recent influence - so many of these today hide paradoxically under the auspices of the liberal left - which confuses many - myself included. BUT the real social damage has come from the left who have almost exclusively brought us:
1) Uncontrolled immigration which damages a society on countless levels?
2) The granting to low lifes a freedom from fear so that they can commit the worst of crimes with so little fear of the consequences?
3) A benefits culture which sustains the feckless at the expense of the working man - and dilutes the benefits available for deserving cases?
4) Godlessness; immorality; mockery of decency; protection for those who damage the foundations of society?
5) A ridiculous educational system based on 'the fight against elitism' rather than care for education in its own right?
6) Bureaucracy?
7) The idea that governments rule - they do not serve!?
8) Ultra high taxation with few positives to show in society for their profligacy?
9) The denigration of employers, entrepreneurs, business people, profit, investment? - Such thinking undermines our economy!
10) Selling out to foreign powers?
11) The idea that 'nanny state' is a must?
12) Illegitimacy rates which are horrific and undermine the basis of the family?
13) The idea that butchering the unborn is perfectly okay but executing evil people is morally barbaric?
14) Unnecessary wars.
15) A virtually unconditional kowtowing to trade unions - some of which have had a treasonous agenda?
16) Redefining morality so that the only 'wrongs' are: a belief in justice, free speech, democracy, homophobia, being insufficiently 'green' and assorted '-isms'?
17) Centralised government?
18) A failure to deal with 'the first duty of government' which is 'to protect its people' - by savaging our military?
19) Wild and ill-considered grants of taxpayers' cash to foreign nations - some of which are nuclear powers and others where the funds line the Cayman Island bank accounts of tinpot dictators?
20) The destruction of 'individual responsibility'?
21) Militant feminism?
22) Bigoted support of a health system which is so poor it ranks in 28th position in the world?
23) Beliefs that the 'rich can be taxed to the eyeballs' without deleterious consequences?
24) Bringing us tax systems which are designed to damage the family?
25) Insisting that homosexuality should be rammed into the undeveloped minds of our children at very young ages?
26) Planting its minions in the BBC and countless quango and government posts in high ranking positions?
27) Acceptance of incomplete science as absolute fact?
28) Happily creating a system wherein it is possible to 'earn' more from benefits than by working - or by working a mere 16 hours?
29) Creates situations where Sheffield firms find it better to lay off workers on £8 an hour so Polish workers can do their jobs for two pounds less?
30) Making it 'racist' for Police, Customs and Inland Revenue to target KNOWN scams if those targets are from ethnic minorities?
31) Making true Christianity effectively illegal by stating what Christians are permitted to believe?
32) Presenting us with untrammeled political correctness?
33) Destroying our culture?
34) Lumping Christianity together with other faiths in order to dilute its effect?
35) Conveniently forgetting that 'multiculturalism' is for nations with ethnic histories such as found in Singapore but is doomed to failure in the UK? (Whatever happened to 'integration'?)
36) Being anti-motorist instead of trying to look for greater efficiency?
37) Pursuing eccentric, quixotic, spendthrift policies with wind turbines which are doomed to fail?
38) Throwing public money at problems without thought for value?
39) Throwing monies at perceived problems: ones which probably only exist in the minds of the average leftie in the first place?
40) Pretending to be the sole holders of 'the moral high ground'?
41) Introducing us to terms such as 'stealth taxation'?
42) Breaking promises on: The Common Market, Referenda on The Lisbon Treaty and in some cases, votes on withdrawal from the EU?
43) Creating non jobs to fill the advertising columns of The Grauniad?
44) Frequently creating situations where the unelected House of Lords is more representative of the public than our elected members at Westminster?
45) Not permitting PR as it might create something akin to democracy?
46) Refusing referenda on moral issues: parliamentarians must 'be our conscience'.
47) Hogtying our courts so as to limit the execution of justice - particularly where magistrates are concerned.
48) Implementing damaging EU policies without fighting them in the way successive French governments have done.
49) Allowing bankers off the leash!

Fool's gold! - Did that man get anything right?
'The British economy was short-changed by almost £11billion when Gordon Brown sold 400 tons of Britain's gold reserves at rock-bottom prices.
Gold today rose above the $1,500 dollar-an-ounce barrier for the first time and a sale of the precious metal by the former Chancellor that raised £2.3billion would today have fetched a whopping £12.95billion.' (Mail.)
Devaluing Easter.
It is bad enough in the UK that we have a culture of work on Good Friday - but shame on the Football League for arranging so many fixtures on such an important day.
Give credit to secular/Catholic Spain that at least they shut the shops and have processions even though the contents of some parts of the parades are somewhat theologically dubious!

EU could be stopped in its tracks!
'The crisis gripping the Eurozone deepened yesterday after a hardline euro-sceptic party made sweeping gains in the Finnish general election.
In a move that sent shockwaves across financial markets, the True Finns vowed to block further financial bailouts for struggling nations after seizing one fifth of the votes in the weekend election.
The party’s spectacular rise could derail a £70billion rescue package for debt-laden Portugal, which opened up talks with the International Monetary Fund and the European Commission yesterday.'
NICE ONE, FINLAND! OUR TURN NEXT, PLEASE!

Why the differences?
God is sometimes attacked by bigots, who are not prepared to research fully their prejudices, for 'waging war on the tribes of Canaan' and The Middle East.
They claim that the 'violent, vengeful God of the Old Testament' bears little resemblance to the 'loving God of the New Testament'.
This is claimed to be an 'inconsistency'.
The answer I suggest offering, from a Christian viewpoint, is to some extent unsatisfactory but it rather wrecks the claims of non-believers.
The reason why this argument is only peripheral for Christians is because the main reason is more to do with the nature of idolatry.

Simply point out to such people that a considerable number of the tribes of The Middle East practised child sacrifice in their worship of Moloch, Baal and Astarte. The Jews did not - and were punished when they strayed.

Those who argue for the variation between the testaments - and more than a few in the Church - are in for a rather large shock when The End Times predicted in Matthew 24 inter al come to pass!
Folly earns its reward.
The man in Carlisle jailed for 70 days for burning the Koran got exactly what he deserved.
It was an act of the purest provocation.
It was an act of the purest provocation.
Naturally, we must conclude that if any islamist were to do the same to the Bible - a similar disposal would ensue!
And what of the rancid, hate-filled, atheistic lefties? Would they not also receive the same?

Christian persecution building up a head of steam!
'An electrician facing the sack for displaying a small cross in his company van was backed last night by the former Archbishop of Canterbury Lord Carey.
He said it was ‘outrageous’ that Colin Atkinson had been told by the housing association he works for that he cannot show the Christian symbol of his faith on the dashboard.
Mr Atkinson refuses to adhere to the ‘anti-Christian’ rules imposed on staff which come despite his boss, Denis Doody, being allowed to display a poster of communist revolutionary Che Guevara in his office.

Mr Atkinson refuses to adhere to the ‘anti-Christian’ rules imposed on staff which come despite his boss, Denis Doody, being allowed to display a poster of communist revolutionary Che Guevara in his office.
Devout Mr Atkinson says he is prepared to lose his job at Wakefield and District Housing (WDH), where he has worked for 15 years, and has accused bosses of marginalising Christians in the name of political correctness.
'The 64-year-old grandfather from Wakefield, West Yorkshire, said: ‘It’s a scandal that we live in a Christian nation and yet Christians are not allowed to practise their religion.
‘I expect to be sacked but I have no fear of man, just a fear of God.’
Absolute scandal! I could weep!
'Children who are not adopted by the age of five face being left to languish in care, new figures revealed yesterday.
Thousands of children, some under six, are being denied the chance of a new family because they are considered too old for adoption.
Thousands of children, some under six, are being denied the chance of a new family because they are considered too old for adoption.
Critics fear local authorities are operating an 'informal age limit'.
Older children are less likely to be adopted with just one per cent of over 12s being taken in by a family.
A child’s chance of adoption plunges after the age of five, from one in three when a child is 4 or younger, to one in 15 after their fifth birthday. Just one in 100 children will be adopted from the age of 12, shocking figures from the Department for Education reveal.'

Tetelestai.
Record carhire pulled a fast one on me when I collected my hirecar on Saturday.
I produced a document which had stamped all over it PAID IN FULL whereupon they insisted that I pay 38 euros to them because 'the comprehensive insurance wasn't comprehensive enough' and found something in microscopic print - too small for me even to read - justifying their actions, (They did offer an alternative which was simply horrendous!)

From the Cross, Jesus cried out 'Tetelestai' which is sometimes translated as "It is finished" but is frequently rendered as "Paid in full" echoing a debt owed to a pawnbroker or equivalent.
When Jesus said "Paid in full." - He meant it and this Easter we should give ourselves fully to Him - giving thanks for His sacrifice on our behalf.

Airport ripoffs.
Quite apart from the fact that Leeds/Bradford now charges returning passengers for a trolley - I had to collect my son from East Midlands recently and had to pay a pound just to drive up and collect him!
Is it not enough that fuel prices have put air travel once again into such a highly expensive category?

It is MUCH worse than we'd thought!
'Kenneth Clarke has denied being politically isolated over plans to reduce
prisoner numbers, insisting his stance has the full support of David Cameron and
Cabinet colleagues.' (AOL)

Easy solution.
'Ken Clarke today warns that expanding prison places is unsustainable and a waste of taxpayers’ money.'Sack the buffoon! He doesn't have to live next door to the kind of people he is so eager to protect from punishment.
Anglicanism - not dead yet, perhaps!
Bishop John Rodgers - Anglican Pathfinder.
ESSENTIAL TRUTHS FOR CHRISTIANS: A Commentary on the Anglican Thirty-Nine Articles and an Introduction to Systematic Theology. Classical Anglican Press, $24.95 paperback, $49.95 hardcover.
'With the publication of his new book, orthodox Anglicans are doubly indebted to Bishop John Rodgers. In January 2000, along with Chuck Murphy, he was consecrated as a founding bishop of the Anglican Mission in America, a bold stroke which galvanised the struggle against false teaching in the Anglican Communion. The subsequent emergence of GAFCON, the Jerusalem Declaration and the Anglican Church in North America have vindicated that action and now, after many years’ work, Bishop John has produced a book which will be truly essential for all those committed to rebuilding global Anglicanism as a confessing Communion with a confident and clear witness to the gospel.' A leading geneticist once came as a guest lecturer to Sheffield University.
My spies told me that his very first words echoed the title of this piece.
