TV watchdog Ofcom has rejected complaints that comedian Ricky Gervais's use of the word 'mong' during a stand-up show was offensive.
The Office star and controversial comedian claimed that Britain's Got Talent singer Susan Boyle looked like a 'mong' during his 'Science' live show on Channel 4 last year.

During a tirade about the Scots singer in October, Gervais said: 'She would not be where she is today if it wasn’t for the fact that she looked like such a f*****g mong.'

Anglican bishops last night helped derail government plans to cap benefts at £26,000.

Please read that figure again. Twenty Six THOUSAND!

This is taxpayers' money funding seriously comfortable lifestyles for many.

If such amounts were for the people with Down's Syndrome, the deaf/blind and other major conditions £26k may not be close to sufficient. But admit it - you just know that these good folk are not the issue!
(A YouGov poll has shown that 76 per cent of the public favour the benefit cap, including 69 per cent of Labour voters! )

I have written before about the campaigns of vilification, misinformation and undiluted hatred directed at The USA's  J. Edgar Hoover - longterm boss of the FBI.

They waited until he was dead, of course. Did he commit the ultimate and most unpardonable sin - falling out with the Kennedys?

If scandalmongering allegations of serial adultery by King Juan Carlos of Spain contain any truth at all - I shall be most disappointed.

Anointed as General Franco's successor to be another falangist dictator - within two days of the Caudillo's death,  he had announced that Spain would become a democracy.

He is a man I have long admired for this.

In a proper world he would be facing 25 years. A former pupil of mine from the 1970s killed six people whilst driving drunk and disqualified. He got 15 years - the judge had his knuckles rapped by The Court Of Appeal and it was reduced to 10.

'The Department of Health (DoH) has drawn up plans to radically reform the assistance given to thousands of women with crisis pregnancies.

Among them is a proposal to place abortion providers under a legal obligation to offer women access to independent counselling, stripping them from providing any "in-house" service.

Critics of the existing system say the counselling which is offered by the clinics is biased, because their funding from the state depends on the number of terminations they carry out.' (Telegraph.)

Want Better Food In Prison & Hospital?

'A third of inmates at one of Britain’s most notorious youth jails are Muslims and the religion is attracting a large number  of converts.
There are 229 Muslims out of a total of 686 youngsters detained at Feltham Young Offenders’ Institution in West London, according to Ministry of Justice figures.
There are now so many worshippers at Friday prayers that they have to be split between Feltham’s mosque and its gym.
Sources claim that converts  are attracted by the chance  of better food and a more comfortable regime.'

When I was in hospital a year ago I was told that I should ask for halal food as it would be better and fresher.
