If scandalmongering allegations of serial adultery by King Juan Carlos of Spain contain any truth at all - I shall be most disappointed.
Anointed as General Franco's successor to be another falangist dictator - within two days of the Caudillo's death, he had announced that Spain would become a democracy.
He is a man I have long admired for this.
With said 'adultery' added to the abandoning of his hard right regime - General Franco must be spinning in his grave at the Valle de los Caídos!
