In an extremely violent, unprovoked incident, James Thomson had an argument with a bouncer then returned on at least two further occasions to assault him.He also violently assaulted three police officers in the execution of their duty.
Thomson was given a four-month prison sentence for each of the charges he admitted, to run concurrently - but it was suspended for two years. he was tagged and given 200 hours community service.
When I began on the Bench in 1996, the assault of somebody serving the public like a bouncer and especially a police officer was 'entry point custody'. One punch to the face would have been enough.
This low life has assaulted FOUR different people in at least six attacks. REMEMBER, they were unprovoked!
It is intolerable that anybody should be sentenced thus for such crimes.
