Abolitionists who criticise Iraq for the high number of executions can hardly be listened to. They lack any perspective.
Those of us who support the death penalty in extreme cases can however, take an objective view.
More than 60 executions in 2012 so far is horrendous! It does not help when more than FIFTY crimes are capital - including Damaging Public Property. It also does not help that Iraqi justice is not exactly known for its fairness to the accused.
