A slug epidemic is expected because of the peculiar weather during this spring.
Shame. It might have been the one thing which could have reversed the decline of the song thrush - but I fear that it may be too late.
Mind you - there are a few mistle thrushes in our postcode - so hopefully they will have a boost and will give the gardeners some much-needed help at the same time.
