At Full Gallup.

CREATIONIST BELIEFS PERSIST, according to a recent Gallup Poll reported 1 June 2012. Gallup Poll have conducted a survey on beliefs about human origins. The results indicated 46 percent of Americans believe humans were created in their present form less than 10,000 years ago, 32 percent believe humans evolved under God’s guidance and 15 percent believed humans evolved with God playing no part in the process. The Gallup Poll organisation has conducted this same survey with the same questions 11 times since 1982, and the results for the young earth creation belief have been much the same, being 44 percent in 1982 and varying from 40 to 47 over the next 30 years. There has been a decrease in the theistic evolution believers from 38 to 32 percent and a rise in atheistic evolutionists from 9 to 15 percent. Gallup Poll concluded: “Despite the many changes that have taken place in American society and culture over the past 30 years, including new discoveries in biological and social science, there has been virtually no sustained change in Americans’ views of the origin of the human species since 1982”.
