A Dutch citizens’ campaign to make it mandatory to hold a
referendum on any new transfer of powers to the EU is on the verge of reaching
the 40,000 signatures necessary to force a debate in the Dutch Parliament on the
issue. A new Maurice de Hond poll shows that 64% of respondents back the
