Stuart Hall: BBC's Shame!

I was reporting on an FA cup match at Northwich Victoria in December 1982 and found myself sitting alongside the predatory 'gentleman' concerned.
Yes, I well recall his pithy comments, trenchant wit and general bonhomie on air for Radio 2 - but my biggest memory was the strong smell of brandy which hung in the atmosphere around him and wafted in every direction and which then strengthened after the half time interval. (This is a tipple which may well not be quite as available to him in Strangeways.)
'How are the mighty fallen.'

Excellent.
