I must report that there has recently been another broad range of price rises - many of which are in effect, concealed:
A price is given for an item. A significant reduction is made for buying three. This is so permanent as not to be 'a special offer'. The apparent 'offer' is then removed - significant price rise which will be claimed by the supermarket as no rise at all.
Cheaper, own brands removed.
Cheaper brands replaced with more expensive 'cheaper brands' - so they may claim that there 'has been no price rise'.
Reduced numbers of special offers.
Reduced weights and pack sizes when prices are maintained.
ASDA is dreadfully out of favour. It has changed its
basic potato salad which was excellent to an inferior content. Over a
matter of months - this has gone up by some 50%.
The numbers of scams is eye-wateringly
high.
