Sir Michael Wilshaw, the head of Ofsted, has stated that many teachers do not even recognise 'good' any more.
He is certainly correct.

It is almost impossible to conceive of such a situation if Grammar Schools still existed across the country and there had been no dumbing down - innit?
Mind you - I remain far from convinced that Ofsted's contribution has been particularly worthwhile.
Bring back the old, non-intrusive HMIs!
