Law
society promotes sharia law in
new guidance for solicitors.
The Law
Society has issued new guidelines for solicitors on how to draft “sharia
compliant” wills which deny women an equal share of inheritance and exclude
non-Muslims entirely.
The guidelines, which would be recognised by British courts, were quietly published for lawyers in England and Wales this month to “assist solicitors who have been instructed to prepare a valid will, which follows sharia succession rules”. Christian Concern.

Silly, silly man. Two slices of bread and marmalade may not be the healthiest start to the day but, carefully shopped, would cost a maximum of £1-04 per week. (70p longlife loaf, 27p full jar of marmalade (will use less than half), approximately 7p in basic spread. Can be done even cheaper using 50pence basic loaves. Arguably, just £0-84p! Do it the cheaper way and a piece of seasonal fruit could be added on several days and still remain within the top figure.)
So who actually are these families? Can they afford alcohol? Can they afford tobacco? Can they afford illegal drugs? Does child benefit not run to considerably more than £1-04 per week?
The overwhelming majority of this kind of poverty is, in fact, child abuse by dreadful parenting. I have friends who have worked directly amongst such families who have been able to give me chapter and verse.

Tories Scared.
Just one in 10 Ukip supporters would consider switching their vote to keep Ed Miliband out of Downing Street, a major new poll revealed yesterday.
The study by the former Tory deputy chairman Lord Ashcroft found that most supporters of the anti-EU party do not believe to David Cameron's warning that they risk wrecking hopes of an EU referendum by aiding a Labour victory.
The finding is a major blow to the Tories who fear a strong showing for Ukip in next year's General Election could cost them dozens of seats.
The Tories 'Vote Ukip, get Labour' - or 'Vote Farage, get Miliband' slogan is expected to play a key role in the party's strategy next year.
But the new study of 2,300 Ukip supporters found that that just over half (51 per cent) disagreed with the statement 'a vote for Ukip makes the prospect of Ed Miliband becoming Prime Minister more likely'.
Almost a quarter (23 per cent) agreed they might inadvertently help Labour into power but said they did not care.
Just 10 per cent said they would consider changing their vote to keep Mr Miliband out.

Give
opponents of same-sex 'marriage' a chance to air their views, says BBC
Magazine
An article published in the on-line BBC
Magazine has highlighted that same-sex 'marriage' is not supported by all
homosexual individuals, and that many people feel that they have been denied the
opportunity to express their concerns about the new
legislation.
"Sometimes the debate on gay marriage has been polarised, casting those who supported the measure as the right-thinking and those who opposed it as irrational and guilty of tacit homophobia," it says.
"The law to allow gay marriage passed quickly and there are those who still feel they have not had a proper chance to air their concerns. There are not just religious objections to changing the definition of marriage...Not every gay person is in favour of gay marriage." Christian Concern.Read more >

NOT Born That Way?
“Nobody
is born that way", gay historians say
American
journalist, David Benkof, has published an essay concluding that scholarly
research on homosexuality indicates "gayness" is much more socio-cultural than
biological.
He has interviewed leading scholars of homosexual history and anthropololgy, almost all LGBT themselves, and reports that they have decisively concluded that ‘gayness’ is a product of Western society originating about 150 years ago.
He says the scholars he met were dismayed or appalled by the idea that being homosexual was “hard-wired” or innate. Christian Concern.

UKIP
reiterates current opposition to same-sex ‘marriage’
UKIP leader
Nigel Farage has re-stated his party’s opposition to same-sex ‘marriage’,
emphasising concerns to protect religious freedom.
Last week, UKIP’s press office released comments attributed to Mr Farage suggesting that the party’s position on the controversial legislation had changed. But in a correction, Mr Farage said that the statement ‘was not made by me and not approved by me’.
In his statement he explained, “we were concerned that because of the role of the European Court of Human Rights in British law that faith communities which had strong objections were at risk of being force to conduct gay marriages.” He reiterated the point when asked during this week’s broadcast debate with Nick Clegg whether he supported same-sex 'marriage', as did Roger Helmer MEP on this week's edition of Question Time.
Mr Farage’s statement also alluded to “ongoing debate” within the party about how to protect “faith communities from ultimately being compelled to conduct same-sex marriages”, noting that “some gay rights activists are already talking about taking legal action in Strasbourg to force this issue.”
Andrea Williams says: “It is reassuring that as the European elections approach, unlike David Cameron, Ed Miliband and Nick Clegg, Nigel Farage recognises problems with same-sex ‘marriage’ and maintains his opposition. UKIP is right to fear the consequences for the freedom of churches. Like UKIP we are aware that some activists are already talking about using legal action to force churches to conduct same-sex marriage and there is no room for complacency.
“However, our opposition to redefining marriage has been broader than merely protecting Christian conscience. We are concerned for the long-term consequences for children, adults and communities of the dismantling and marginalisation of God’s beautiful blueprint for marriage.
“We shall follow UKIP’s ‘ongoing discussion’ on the issue very closely. Some commentators have suggested that church marriage and state marriage should be decoupled in order to maintain protection. Whatever the motivation, any such move should be strongly resisted. At this point in time, it would only lead to real marriage being further pushed to the margins of society."

World Vision Backtracks.
World Vision, one of the biggest charities in the US, which asks donors to sponsor hungry children, said early this week that it was to broaden its recruitment pool to include gay married Christians as a gesture of unity for a faith that has been riven by the issue of same-sex marriage.
However rather than approval, the charity received immediate censure, with the faithful declaring on social networks and in online message boards that they had cancelled their sponsorships with the organisation.
Less than two days after making the announcement, World Vision, which boasts an annual budget of $1 billion, backpedalled on the decision, calling it “a mistake”.
On reversing the move, World Vision president Richard Stearns told Christianity Today, “We feel pain and a broken heart for the confusion we caused for many friends who saw this policy change as a strong reversal of World Vision's commitment to biblical authority, which it was not intended to be."

British hospitals are testing a game-changing “personalised” type of radiotherapy that erases the disease in double-quick time and boosts survival chances. It is hoped the treatment could be available on the NHS within two years.
Prostate cancer is the most common form of the disease in men accounting for 25 per cent of all cases. It kills 11,000 in Britain every year. But the milestone treatment offers fresh hope to 40,000 men newly diagnosed every year. Express.

Three Christian villages were burned down in an attack in Nigeria's Kaduna state, with reports stating that more than 100 people were "hacked and burned to death," allegedly by Muslim gunmen.
"We are still picking bodies out of the bush, but so
far there are more than 100 killed," said Daniel Anyip, vice chairman of the
Kaura local government authority, according to Reuters.
Chenshyi village chief Nuhu Moses revealed that the entire
village was burned down, with gunmen having killed more than 50
people.
"The unfortunate attack on our communities has led to
killing of more than 100 Christians," the Rev. Yakubu Gandu Nkut, chairman of
the Zankan area chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria, told Morning Star News. "The wife of one of our pastors, Mrs. Jummai Likita Riku,
and her three children, from the ECWA (Evangelical Church Winning All) church,
Ugwar Sankwai, were killed in the attack."

Choccie Scams.
Let us consider a chocolate-covered bar weighing
between 48 and 65 grams. Whether it covers biscuit, nougat, caramel et al -
precisely what % of the bar is actually choccie?
I would suggest that few achieve a lofty 20% which
means an absolute maximum of 13 grams of chocolate. This, naturally, has been
adulterated with milk, fats and other additives
If we suggest that 7 grams is the likely maximum of
actual chocolate in any such bar - we begin to gain a
perspective.
Let us postulate a mighty 20% increase in chocolate
prices internationally - we are talking about the equivalent of a mere 1.4 grams
- give or take.
So how does this minute amount justify chocolate bar
price rises of, say, 25% - or size reductions?
It is a ripoff amongst the very worst of ripoffs. Scam
alert!
Further proof needed? Check the price rises on actual
dark chocolate bars in cheaper supermarkets over the last three years in which
the % of actual chocolate is actually much higher than in caramel-style bars et
al. Price rises are NOT of this order.

Climate Prof Breaks Ranks!
A climate scientist has accused the United Nations of being too alarmist over global warming – and demanded his name be removed from a crucial new report.
Professor Richard Tol, an economist at the University of Sussex, said fellow UN academics were exaggerating climate change and comparing it to the ‘apocalypse’.
His comments are a blow to the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), which on Monday will publish its first update in seven years on the impacts of climate change.
Previous IPCC reports on climate impact have been plagued by errors that damaged the body’s credibility.

Evenhanded? - No Way!
Any fair-minded person would have been sickened by the contrast in the treatment of IRA/Sinn Fein terrorist murderers and
soldiers who risked their lives in protecting people against
them.
Bringing to an end an armed insurrection and the making of a lasting
settlement was bound to involve some hard-to-swallow deals. What has bedevilled
that process in Northern Ireland is an extraordinary naivety on the side of
successive ministers, and the scarcely suppressed Foreign Office view that
Northern Ireland, like the Falklands, would be best dealt with by a surrender to
violence – which would also improve our relations with the powerful anti-British
lobby within the Democratic Party, personified by the Kennedy clan.
Had Airey Neave not been murdered within the precincts of the Palace of
Westminster by Irish Republican terrorists, that would not have been so. He was
absolutely clear that the defeat of the armed insurrection was the essential
first step towards a constitutional settlement.
The irony and the tragedy of events was that even the politicians within
the Northern Ireland Office did not understand that despite their defeatism, the
Army and security services had the IRA by the throat and on its knees, and that
was why it sought a ceasefire and negotiation of a settlement.
As we all now know, our security service had informers in the highest
councils of IRA/Sinn Fein. Inevitably that meant that even with the knowledge of
a planned bombing the security services could not always act to prevent it
without giving away the identity of their informers.
What they could do, and I understand did do, was to methodically acquire
the evidence with which one very senior IRA/Sinn Fein killer was to have been
charged with eight killings.
I suspect that it was that which precipitated the IRA/Sinn Fein plea for
talks. All that has now been exposed about the secret letters which in effect
gave immunity from prosecution to a number of the "On The Runs" makes me wonder
about what understandings were give before the senior IRA/Sinn Fein terrorists
took their seats at the table to agree what is commonly known as the Good Friday
Agreement.
Although it sticks in my throat to see among them those who planned,
financed and commissioning of the bombing, which has left my wife in the prison
of her injuries for almost 30 years with no possibility of release except into
the grave, I have to accept that it has saved many other innocent
lives.
What turns my stomach is that our soldiers who risked their lives to save
so many others should, unlike the terrorists they fought, now be at risk of
prosecution.
That I will not accept. Norman
Tebbitt.

Ethnic Cleansing Could Lead to Mass Exodus of Middle East Christians
By

The
former President of Lebanon, Amine Gemayel, is a Maronite Christian. He recently
warned of "an exodus approaching biblical proportions." Gemayel told a gathering
in Zurich of Christian Solidarity International (CSI) and other human rights
activists that the current wave of church burnings, murders, and riots against
Christians in the Mideast is the work of radical Islamists. The former Lebanese
leaders own brother had been assassinated in Beirut by these same jihadists.
