Last Day Of The Most Vicious Election Campaign in Modern UK History.

I am relieved that it's so nearly over. There has never been such a scurrilous election campaign throughout all of modern history.
It has not just been the LibLabCon uniting against a common foe - that has been largely within the normal and acceptable parameters and for once the BBC has not been too terrible - but the media have been unrelentingly foul. They have persistently taken any triviality about UKIP and calculatedly attempted to use it as a smear.
Take the Huffington Post today - it points out that during his career, Nigel Farage has fallen out with nine people. I looked down the list and spotted a motley crew largely made up of people you would not want living next door.
(I am sufficiently well-informed within the party to know just how impossible it was to keep most - or even any - of these on board.)
So - the putrid propaganda has served its purpose. It appears to be more than a rumour that the Tory party put aside a special team to look for the minutest bit of 'dirt' on any UKIP member and fed this to a ravening media which used it with a slavering relish. Minor stories were magnified and turned into scandals. When the Mail becomes worse than the Guardian ...
